Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Nothing really. I saw a similar pic on a FB link, and thought, "Hey, macarons are pretty".

That being said, I've never had one. I only like soft meringue, not the crunchy kind.
They are so yummy. Only a slight crunch on the very outside of the cookie and then it's soft and just melts when you eat it. My aunt sent some for Christmas a few years back and there was a vanilla caramel one that was unreal.

ETA: She sent them from here: http://www.shopsucre.com/ And it was the bananas foster one that I adored.

Bananas foster anything is a beautiful thing; not sure about the rum centre though.

My dad and I used to always order this. The restaurant (The Iron Horse) served it with crepes and ice cream.

Crepes AND ice cream, too??!!! Wow.

I recall my parents taking me to an upscale steak house when I was a teenager. Food goes through phases, and cherries jubilee was big at that time. I'll never forget how exciting it was for the waiter to roll over the side service table, and prepare the dessert in front of us. It was big fun when he lit the match, and the dessert went up in flames. :joyfull:

We went to the Ringling Museum in Sarasota today. It's kind of an eclectic collection of circus memorabilia, and then a beautiful art museum. We didn't realize that once a month the art museum is free to the public, and today was that day, so that part was pretty crowded so we decided to skip it and go back when we're here in May.

So here's a few pictures from the circus buildings. The first building contains an amazingly detailed diorama-type thing of the circus coming into town. There are thousands of hand-made miniatures in it, covering the parades, the back stage area and the performances inside the Big Top. It's pretty cool.

I'm also thinking that with the closing of the circus in 2017, more people will go to the museum now. The dollar value of this memorabilia will also spike.
