Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I think it's new episodes this year. Make my neighbor's tacky lights look pretty pathetic.

I have mixed feelings about these shows. On the one hand, there are some people who are so talented and put together amazing, creative displays--some with various computer program enhancements. On the other hand, some displays are just over-the-top; and the impression I get is that they're just saying, hey, my light display is bigger, more powerful, and better than everyone else's. (O.k. . . . so . . . who cares? o_O )

Perhaps I'm just more low key, and I think that most of the overdone, giant displays miss the target. Not a fan of overkill . . . I far prefer smaller displays (whether whimsical like Jennifer's, or elegantly appointed, understated ones).

That aside, one thing that hubs and I like to do around the holidays is drive around the streets and "rate" the displays. What cracks us up are the people who don't have a clue about stringing up lights, and they also put up all kinds of mismatched carp. I'd be mortified to live in those houses; but apparently, the people who live in them think their decorations are a masterpiece! :hilarious:

When my kids were little there was a place in Connecticut that we used to bring the kids to every year. It was amazing - thousands of lights and animated things, and the owner would greet each visitor personally. His son loved Christmas and had been killed in a car accident, so this was his way of honoring his son.

Our local paper usually publishes a few of ours. Here's one:
