Heading for home today, assuming they let us back across the border. It's been a great trip, but it will be nice to get back to our old time zone. I wish we had planned to stay longer , but next time we'll know better.
Safe travels!!! Glad you will be back before the rain gets us tomorrow.

We already had the rain and wind down here. No damage in the Raleigh area, just wet. Today the sun is shining. Good luck to everyone north of us. Hopefully you will have the same results. I haven't had time to check the news yet this morning so we might have had some heavy coastal damage. I'll find out soon.

Glad you're ok. Heard yesterday the Outer Banks was getting slammed - I know that's not you but I wasn't sure how far you are from there. It's gorgeous here today - calm before the store, as they say.

I'm about 250 miles inland from the Banks. I'm ashamed to say that I have never been there. I must make a note to visit there someday preferably not during Hurricane season.

4 out of 6 is the same as 2 out of 3, which I've been led to believe "ain't bad".*

# 28 on the list

Even as completely dead inside that I am... "Somebody That I Used to Know" hits way to close to home. To me it is the saddest song ever written and fires up every emotion that I still had at the time that our marriage ended and for a number of years after. It refired every time we had a family get together.. so surreal and uncomfortable.

Well that's sad. :(

Not being glib here, but with your ex-wife's current health, YOU soon won't even BE someone that she used to know. That's even sadder. How is her health, by the way?

That's the case now. She doesn't remember much about our 29 years together. I sometimes wish I could forget that latter part of it, but, as is with anything, not all of it was bad. It really saddens me that the one person that I shared so much of my life with, marriage, home buying, children having and raising, their school days, our vacations together all were great memories. The person that I shared all that with cannot seem to recall any of it. It's as if it never happened and it was all just a dream. Fortunately, there are some products of that time that are still here and are still bringing me joy and happiness. However, in many ways it seems like it never happened.

As far as her health is concerned, she's not good, but, she seems to have reached a level where she doesn't seem to be getting any worse, at least on the outside. I don't believe she really has any incentive to want to live anymore. The shocking thing is that if I were in her place, I doubt that I would want to continue on either.

That's sad. Sorry to hear it. Life is complicated at times. :(

I've only seen it on the weather channel when the reporter is getting blown sideways.

I love watching the Weather Channel when the weather guys are so burnt out, that they start interviewing anyone to fill in air time. :p About 2 hours ago, I turned on the Weather Channel, and the weather man was getting blown sideways--while he decided to interview this guy on the beach, who had one of those metal detector poles. So they're standing in the ocean and the interview was about how great it was when the tides were high, because there might be more treasure pushed ashore from the big waves. Gee, that was fascinating.

Why did I turn the Weather Channel on? Oh, that's right--I was wondering what the weather report was for tomorrow. (Haven't a clue . . . )

Yeah the Weather Channel has a way of sucking you in and entertaining you while not providing much information.
