Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I've never slept through a tornado (knock on wood) but I did "tent" camp through a hurricane in Florida once.

It was way before advance forecast modeling and Weather Apps, etc.

We just thought it was a really bad storm and hunkered down. By the time the rain slacked up enough for us to strike camp, we found out that the hurricane had passed the area and we might as well stay.
We were at a beachfront cottage in 1995 when a really bad storm (later determined to be a hurricane) rolled through. Hubby had gone outside to secure some of the furniture and barbeque that was blowing around when a large tree fell on our cottage. Ten cottages in a cluster and it fell on ours.

Luckily, it landed exactly on the corner of the structure, the only location of the framing that was rigid enough to withstand the weight and force of the huge trunk. It also happened to be the corner of the cottage where 4-month old Son #1 was sleeping in his Pack'n Play.

The larger limbs completely covered the cottage and blocked the entry door. The baby and I were stuck inside with no hydro. Hubby was stuck outside.

It took him and his brother, BIL, and a bunch of other men more than four hours to chop down enough of the tree to clear the doorway. In the meantime, my SIL was screaming/crying/wailing for hours like we were dead; I played solitaire by candlelight; and the baby slept soundly until it was feeding time.

The owner came the next morning once the roads had been cleared and said we were very blessed ... a couple of inches either way, and that huge tree would have collapsed the entire cottage like a deck of cards.

And then my SIL started bawling again.

Hooray! The Cavalier is coming back today.
I lent it to Gen for what I thought was a few days/maybe a week ... and almost six weeks later, it's coming back.

Most inconvenienced - Son #1, who is insured on the Cavalier only.
Second most inconvenienced - yours truly, as Ski has been using my Altima.
Not inconvenienced at all - Gen, her parents, Ski ....

I am either the nicest person in the world, or the biggest sap. Whichever.

I slept through a tornado. I was about 8-9 years old. The tornado destroyed a shed on our property and damaged part of our garage. My mom got my sister (who was still up at the time since she was older and had a later bed time) downstairs and was at my door ready to open it and get me downstairs when the tornado had already passed. So we just let me keep sleeping. I woke up in the morning and was surprised at the damage. Our neighbor across the street wasn't as lucky as we were, their house was completely destroyed but I guess they were lucky in the fact that they weren't home at the time.

I've thankfully never been close to a tornado, but when I was in kindergarten my school got hit by a small tornado that did a good bit of damage to the school. Luckily, that happened when we weren't in school.

I do have an aunt that survived a tornado. For some crazy reason she thought it was a good idea to get in her car and try to outrun the tornado. However, my aunt (and I'm not trying to be mean it's just true) is not the brightest person in the world, or as my grandmother says, "she's flaky as damn donut."

You're basically a genius! Most adults don't retain most of the information they've acquired during their elementary education, but you're in the 3% who do! Well done!

(Note: No one is more shocked by these results than me!! :p Never thought I'd be in the same league as @JenniferS !! )

I'm also in the 3% but I have to say I had NO IDEA one of the planets went in a different direction. There were a couple I guessed on. I hate when they don't show what you got right and wrong. Off to Google the ones I guessed.
I guessed at the planet one too. I went with Uranus.
When in doubt, I always pick Uranus.
