I kind of want to make a new Universal park in Europe. However, I want to know where the best place is. I want to know how to be culturally authentic with the park, making sure it works well where it goes. I'm trying to learn from the mistakes of EuroDisneyland, making sure that this could be successful wherever it goes.

My initial thoughts were Paris, where Disney has already established themselves. However, I do not know much about French films. My other thoughts were Barcelona, Madrid, and Munich, proposed sites for EuroDisney that didn't go through, and perhaps easier to please than the French. Another idea I had was London, where it already has Warner Bros. Studio Tour and related things. Plus, I know more about British pop culture than anywhere else in Europe.

Tell me your thoughts on where this park should go, and maybe, what could be involved in it.

This is a great idea

@Disney Dad 3000 might know about this as well, but recently I've been watching this channel 1st Drop on youtube and his adventures to Phantasialand in Germany

If Epic Universe lives up to the hype, I could see an 'all-out' park like that to rival the top-tier German parks. And being essentially in the center of European travel it might bring more theme park enthusiasts to the area since they'd already be going for the former park.

Good advice. All-out seems good, but I'm actually worried about Epic Universe. I fear that it would put Disney out of business like everyone thinks.

Universal should build a dragon alley somewhere in London that is entirely public, except for the rides found there. There should also be a train going to a hogwarts themed hotel “experience” similar to galactic starcruiser. It would be SO AWESOME…

If it was me, I think I'd second the Barcelona suggestion. Yes, you'd have a competitor in PortAventura and its 3-park complex, but you shave about 4 hours off a train ride from Paris compared to Madrid, the weather offers more amenable opportunities than the other options (though that doesn't stop many of the best parks in Europe), port access for beginning/end of cruise trips, etc. Madrid has Parque Warner which already has a built in WB relationship.

Germany is an interesting option though (beautiful country), certainly some heavyweights to deal with park wise. Munich could work, or even Frankfurt for that matter. It's smaller but has a busier airport than Munich and could use the tourism boost. Either would be fun to imagine as a part of a "Theme Park Road" working north with Europa Park, "Universal", Phantasialand and capping off with Efteling. They all have some unique ways of working around the colder months as best they can.

I was hearing PortAventura as well a month ago. It makes sense. The park was partnered with, if not outright owned by, Universal for a number of years in the 2000s I think.
Maybe you saw this article (man this forum really hates the W-D-W-N-T link): /2023/01/rumor-universal-buy-back-portaventura-spain/

Universal registered a trademark in Europe in both English and Spanish.

I think the central part of America is a prime location. But I'd also love to see one in Australia as well. They could really theme it to the area with Rescuers Down Under and Finding Nemo attractions.
