They rotate flavors so I check their facebook to see when it's pineapple, but orange is good too.

Make A Dole Whip Just Like Disney!
If you really want a more authentic dole whip recipe like the ones served at Disney you can always do the following:

Step 1: Buy the Dole® Soft Serve premade mix like Disney uses. Amazon now sells the mix by the single bag rather than having to buy in bulk 4 bags at once! Free shipping with Amazon Prime too!

Step 2: Buy a soft serve ice cream machine. This Cuisinart ICE-45 Mix It In Soft Serve 1-1/2-Quart Ice-Cream Maker is a good choice. I personally have one of these and it makes awesome self-serve! It is a fully automatic soft-serve ice-cream maker with a double-insulated freezer bowl. It produces 1-1/2 quarts of ice-cream in just 20 minutes; no chemicals, salt, or ice required. Also the handle makes ice cream swirl out like with an authentic soft-serve machine.

Step 3: Make the soft serve treat. One bag of this mixture makes about 2 gallons of Dole Whip. That’s obviously a lot to consume in any one sitting. So you’ll want to scale it down for your soft serve ice cream machine. The proportions to make 1 quart would be 2 cups of water and 1 3/4 cups of the dry mix. Fill a bowl with the cold water then add the appropriate amount of Dole® Soft Serve mix while stirring with a wire whisk until mix is completely dissolved (about 2 minutes). Pour the mixture into your soft serve machine. If you make 1 quart at a time you will have enough mix in one bag to make these 8 times.

Boy, did I pick the wrong time to try to cut extra sugar from my diet.....

I ordered a bag of the mix and can make it at home whenever I want to.
I had NO idea that was available on Amazon!! Thanks for the tip. Just ordered the last bag, according to the site :)
Dole Pineapple Plantation, Oahu.

The train ride sucks, but the whip is great.

We just got back from Oahu a couple weeks ago. We went to the Dole Plantation solely to get the Dole Whip!

I was on vacation in Maui a couple years ago and found a Dole ice cream shop in Lahaina that had Dole Whips. I guess it's quite common in Hawaii.

I recently went to Stew Leonard's on Long Island for the first time, and imagine my shock and delight to discover that the ice cream stand there was serving Dole Whip ice cream! DD and I got some and it was the authentic thing. I checked online afterwards and apparently it is a test flavor there. I sure hope it stays around! I plan to head back shortly with my Disney resort mug and a can of cold pineapple juice to make my own Dole Whip Float! :hungry:

Splish Splash had it a few summers ago:

Dole Pineapple Plantation, Oahu.

A tad far but I'd love to get there someday!

The Minnesota State Fair has a Dole Whip stand.

They had something called a Dole Whip at the Texas State Fair 2 years ago, but when I excitedly approached the counter, the woman - who had apparently served other Disney fans before me - said "I don't want to disappoint you, but this is different from the one they serve at Disney World. I've received quite a few complaints today." She offered me a free taste and sure enough it was completely different and not tasty at all. Oh well.

As a fellow Long Island, if Stew Leonard's decides to stop serving it, I'll have to look into the Splish Splash option! Thanks.

Yogurtology, a Florida and Arizona frozen yogurt chain, has the Dole Whip flavor. I had it this weekend in Tampa and it tasted exactly the same as what is served in MK.
