The mall is usually dead...like all the malls around here. Last time I was there there was a bunch of closed stores.

There are alot of closed stores. I only go there myself if I need something at Target (only one near me until the one in White Plains opens some time next year) or another store that I dont have around here. I bought my bedroom furniture at the JC Penney Home Store there, before they closed it. I like going there for the Chilis and especially Dave & Busters (nope, no Chilis or D&B on this side of the TZ!)

I also went to see Fantasia 2000 for my birthday at the Imax there :)

Our kids go on field trips to the Imax every year...have never been myself. They finally opened a Chili's near us so I don't have to fight the traffic when I need a fix. Used to go to the Rainforest all the time...now its a Cheesecake Factory.

THEY HAVE A CHEESECAKE FACTORY THERE?!

Thats how long its been since I went!

Actually, we are FINALLY getting a Cheesecake Factory here when they open the new Fortunoff across from the Westchester Mall in the fall. Can you imagine? A Target, a Fortunoff AND a Cheesecake Factory? Can an Olive Garden be far behind?

I think people keep moving up your way, because down my way, the homes are just untouchable, especially for young couples just starting out. Used to be you moved up to the Somers area. Now, the houses up there are getting higher and higher, so they are going further and further up :(

..sorry for the slow response... :brick:

yep... prices of houses are like $350 to start around here... glad my hubby & I didn't have to start there!!

the elementary schools in Southington are wonderful though, so your sister could relax in that knowledge... there's only one elementary school in town that I wouldn't have wanted my kids to go to... there's like 10 elementary schools though.

Best lobster I've EVER had!! :slurp:

We were up at Foxwoods a few weeks ago. We stayed at Grand Cedar. Beautiful rooms. I like it up there. They have the smoke free casino and even a smoke free restaurant (The Bistro), which I recomend over Cedars Steakhouse any day (steak was cold, so they brought it back. Then it was so hard the knife couldnt even cut thru. So they gave me a "free" desert...on a full comp...which is...free anyhow :hammer: )

I like Mohegan too. We sometimes just go up there (1 1/2 hr away) on a whim for Johnny Rockets or Summer Shack (try the fried calamari :slurp: ) and a little gaming ;) Saw Jon Secada up there in the Wolfs Den, as well as Chubby Checker. Marc Anthony even did his special earlier this year from up there. I havent stayed there yet though. Anyone know what the rooms are like?
