Where do you buy pins from?

Is it best and wait until you get to WDW to buy pins or before you go? And if you buy them before you go where is the best place to get them? :hammer:

I generally buy a large "lot" of pins off of E-Bay before heading to WDW. With a "lot" of pins, each pin usually comes in at under $3.00. The pins at WDW normally run between $6.95 and $12.95 (with some more expensive pins here and there) so E-Bay saves me a bunch of money.

You have to be careful with E-Bay though. Check the seller's feedback. Also, I try to stray away from Sedesma pins. They are a good deal, but in my opinion, trading Sedesma pins is unethical.

You can always wait until you get to WDW to purchase pins for trading. If you want to get pins before heading to the parks, check out Disney Pin Traders in Downtown Disney.

The only problem with waiting until I get to WDW to buy pins is that I end up seeing so many that I want to buy for myself, so I usually don't buy as many trader pins as I had planned. With the pins off of E-bay...if I see a pin on the shelf that I want I will spend my vacation hunting the pin down on cast members' lanyards. And if I can't find it by the end of my trip, then I buy it. For me, the fun is in the hunt.

For traders, I have a source in Hong Kong that gets them to me for under $1/pin :)

Thank you for the tips. I did buy a “lot” of pins off ebay and they came in on time and had different types of pins. I just wanted to know what other ways others purchased their pins.

beware of those E-bay pins. Many are unauthorized pins also referred to as "scrappers" If you think trading Sedesma pins is unethical, this is 10 times worse.

We are looking for pins to trade too, we have quite a few but I don't want to trade the ones that we have. What do I look for other than high feedback on eBay? If we decide to just wait ,where is the best place to get them cheap in Orlando?
I just want something the kids can trade for?
Thanks :)

If you go to the Sales board on the Dizpins message boards, you can usually find cheap "grab bag" lots of pins. You don't know what you'll get, but you get a bunch of pins that are tradeable with CM's.

This is my experience as well. Plus, each of the sellers there has a thread so you can see all their feedback. Most of them have a flat rate per pin, and you can order all you want.

I have bought pins this way for as little as $2 each, and haven't been steered wrong yet. In fact, I have gotten some that turned out to be "keepers" for us.
