Where do the Parades begin?

Magic Kingdom Day Parades can start on Main Street (at the front of the park) or start in frontierland (either starting point is the same route)
The Light Parade always starts on Main Street at the front of the park
Hollywood Studios parade starts at the front of the park
Animal Kingdoms Parade start by the safari and exits there too

Actually they changed it at Magic Kingdom, all regularly-scheduled parades (both day and night) start on Main Street. For many years what you posted was true, though.
The only time you'll see an MK parade run starting in Fronteirland is a special event, for example the filming of the Christmas Parade. And I think some of the hard-ticket event parades might start in Fronteirland...

At MK, Every regularly scheduled parade starts on Mainstreet USA, to the right of the firehouse. It then travels to frontierland. The only time that the parades will run backwards are for the Halloween or Christmas parties.
Sometimes though if it's raining the parades will run backwards, this is because some of the heavier floats have a hard time getting up the hill near Pecos Bill's when the ground is wet.
At DHS it starts near the front of the park and ends near startours (i think)
Parades at DAK start and end in Africa.

Some parade watching tips:
For the Magic Kingdom, I would always recommend watching the parades, especially the nighttime one, in Frontierland. Most people head straight for Main Street and it is always crowded. Frontierland isn't empty, but it fills up last, so you have a better chance of getting a good spot. This is especially the case for the second nighttime parade; most have already left at the start and Frontierland is empty.
For DHS, the parade route is crowded most of the way, so get a spot probably about 45 minutes early if you want a really good one.
For the Animal Kingdom, I would recommend one of two options: 1. Get a spot right at the front of the route, outside the Safaris. When the parade comes out all the characters are full of energy and its so much fun. 2. Let the parade go by and once everyone by the Safaris either gets in line or leaves, grab one of their spots, because the parade will come back around the the same exact spot and you will have a premium viewing spot.

While Main Street is the technical starting point for the daytime parade at MK it's subject to change. On Thanksgiving day this past year it ran the other way, no chance of rain or anything like that, so sometimes it will randomly change but it's suppose to start on Main Street.

When I got to be the Grand Marshal of the 3pm parade a few months ago, the CMs told me sometimes for logistical purposes if it's raining or it had JUST rained, they start the daytime parade in Frontierland.

So they move the Magic Kingdom's parade direction for a number of reasons...
Have they ever had the parade in Hollywood Studios start by Star Tours and go to Hollywood Blvd?

Block Party Bash was the first parade to start on Hollywood Blvd. (Well actually, they reversed Stars & Motorcars a few months before it left to get practice for BPB) Before that all parades have started at Star Tours.
In addition, starting next Wednesday, April 6th, the Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! will reverse direction, beginning at Star Tours and end at the front of the park.

All fairly-recent parades, perhaps. But I know that back in the late-90's both the Mulan and Hercules parades ended at Star Tours... The first Toy Story parade too, I believe.
