Myself and three friends are going to Disney World in about a year and we would like to know where to stay. Which resort has the most "life" to it.
Anyother pointers would be sweet as well. And one more thing how dd you guys get those cool little pictures under your name?
Peace,
Mike

My advice Mike would be to stay at the Boardwalk Villas. There is always alot going on there with the ESPN Club, you are also in walking distance of the Swan and Dolphin which have a couple more clubs, NTM you're a quick walk to Epcot and the Studios and a short bus ride to Pleasure Island.

I would also say Boardwalk, that or Yacht and Beach Club, the YandB Club has a better pool, and more seats out by the pool to tan.

I would have to say Port Orleans if they ever get the boats up and running to downtown Disney again. It gives you a great way to get back to your resort after a night at the clubs!! Oh wait, you said 20 not 21, my bad!!!!

You best bet would be one of the All-Star Resorts or Pop Century if it is open by then. These resorts tend to have a lot more folks between 25 and under. The entire poperty is only a short bus ride from All-Stars and the Rates there are also the least expensive if you are on a budget.

All of Disney's resorts are excellent but why pay premium rates for a bed to sleep in, if you are going to be out and about the whole time you are here.

The other resorts mentioned in the posts before mine have more guests that are older than you folks or doing the family vacation thing.

If I were 20 and single it would be all stars for me.

I was going to propose that too... but knowing you´ll be on a budget and at 20, you don´t really care for how far you are from night life... hehehe... I would then suggest the All Stars Resorts. I agree with the niteobsvr!

If you're only 20, then save yourself some money and stay off property.

Whenever I go down to WDW and the parent's aren't paying for it, then I stay off site. It's not hard to find a place to sleep for $40 a night. Since you're only sleeping at the hotel for a couple hours, you shouldn't need to pay $100+ per night.

You could use the money you save for a trip to Universal or Busch Gardens instead of a hotel.

yeah... but staying offsite means renting a car and driving your way around... although... if you are not going to drink (being underage), and you are brave enough to drive there, then try the hotels on sr.535... you are closer than anything! ;)
I would stay at the All Stars and not worry about anything! plus, if one of you wants to go back to the hotel, he can do it on its own and meet the rest of you later. ;)
I wish I could go with my friends now! :)

I understand the points of some people trying to keep the costs low but you have to remember in Mike's first post he said there are four of them. So spliting the cost of a more expensive room 4 ways in very minimal and totally worth it for a more convienent location like Boardwalk. It's nice to save a little money but even with Disney, you get what you paid for.

Thanks

Thanks to everyone that has replied so far. I have one thing to say. I am agreeing with CrazyKingdom because there are four people going and that means that we want a huge room, and we are splitting it four ways. I was looking at the pictures of suites at the Contemporary and the suites at Fort Wilderness Lodge, man they are sweeeeeetttt!!! Anyone have any info on them? Would love to hear from you guys.
Late,
Mike :king:

If you go to www.Disney.com, you can search all of the resorts, and print out maps of most of the room layouts! Also, check out www.mousesavers.com for special rates and offers!

Wow, I had no idea your goals were so high.

On that note, go for the Contemp. It's much better than the WLodge from a transportation standpoint. You have to rely on buses at the Lodge, but you can use your feet, a boat, the bus, and the monorail to get where you want at the Contemp.

I haven't stayed in either quite, so I don't know of any differences between the two internally. The WLodge is much newer, and is extremely well themed if that makes a difference to you (it should also be a hair cheaper as well)

Well Mike,

I suggest you get a Cabin in Fort Wilderness. It sleeps about 6-8 and it has everything you need, you can rent golf cart's to get around, or you can use the buses. Cabins are reasonably priced, it would cost like $55 bucks a person a nite to stay in one. I'm 19, and planning on going down with two of my friends next year, and I think the FW cabins are number 1 on my list. I've stayed in them many times and I think they are the most-underated accomadations in WDW. Just a thought.

......If money is not a factor then I would pick a Contemporary suite over a FW cabin, it will be a lot more $$$, but if you got it why not spend it.

You have boats from the lodge, to any point on the lagoon just like contemp. We have taken the boat from the lodge to the contemp and boarded the monorail there or walked to MK. Lodge bus service is good.

I like both places but the lodge is our favorite.

:sohappy: Welcome Goofy Mike! Are you driving or flying? If you are driving, take a couple of tents and stay at the Fort Wilderness Camp Grounds. Dude, I work in Media. We are neighbors!

Fort Wilderness cabins would be comfortable but two years ago when my sister stayed there, they had some difficulty getting around efficiently.
If you're going to pony up big bucks for a suite, check into the 2 bedroom at BWV. It has everything the CR and WL has plus a whirlpool tub!
If you want to save some money but still have the Boardwalk night life, the Swan and Dolphin have pretty good rates through the Entertainment Club and they are excellent resorts with all the amenities.
