As you are no doubt aware, I have been pondering for a while (many years) a ride of some kind themed to "Pinocchio" that is not necessarily a dark ride. One of them is a revival of an old concept from back when the California Adventure was being overhauled the first time.
Before they went with the Silly Symphony Swings concept, one of the concepts of replacing the giant orange swinger was something themed to "Pinocchio" (presumably called "Geppetto's Workshop"), like so:
Here, guests would have become one of Geppetto's puppets, hanging down with their swing chains acting as their strings - a really nice idea! The ride structure itself would have been given a very Victorian look, with a giant clockwork key at the top turning the whole ride into one of Geppetto's toys, and with murals depicting Pinocchio scenes painted all around it.
Even though the concept never came to be as a Pinocchio theme, I still thought the idea had merit by putting it in WDW's Magic Kingdom (Fantasyland, obviously). However, I'm not sure where, though. The main stumbling block is available physical space, not just in footprint, but in scale, too, since the swings are obviously pretty tall and run the risk of being out of scale. And we must also take the back of the park into account. I believe that's where they shoot off the fireworks, so we can't expand too far back there.
Any ideas where in the Magic Kingdom this could go?
