Do you man exact locations of all the different shells for Wishes.

Most of the show, along with Fantasy in the Sky were shot from behind the MK near Fantasyland. Now some of the shells are located on the roof of Philharmagic and vaious other locations (some in front of the castle if I'm correct)

.

Yeah I know where the one's are shot from over Philharmagic or whatever,

but I'm talking about the big fireworks from behind the park. I know they are shot from behind fantasyland but I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the exactl location from the ground or from overhead so I can see where in relation to the park they are shot from.

off the subject, but while we are waiting for those images.................... i remember in bham a few years back they released how much money the city spent on fireworks for that year and it was around 50K (if memory serves).............. and i was thinking how much better the shows are at places like WDW and how much theres must have cost.

do you know if they make thier own, get good deals, or if a company sponsors the fireworks. dont blast me for my list if they seem outrageous. just wondering.

now while we are waiting..... for those images (jeopardy music please)

They get the 'ingredients' of the shells from overseas, (prices are best) but shells are all packed on property at the Firework Compound. Each one is custom-labled, pretty slick.

thanks, always wondered how they could afford it if they payed somebody for the whole product. but then again, i should have realized that they are a major corporation and they could own a fireworks division if they wanted to.......lol...... and they do i guess.

It's more like a subdivision of the Entertainment Dept. They are responsible for compiling and delivering all the pyro for all the shows across property every day. Very knowledgeable group of folks.....

Sorry, i don't have pictures, but i can tell you where they are launched from. They are launched from behind the 20,000 leagues show building. They are across the tracks, however, so the train does close for the fireworks. For Wishes, there are 12 other launching locations. 6 on the roof of Philharmagic/Peter Pan/Hall of Presidents (all the same building) and 6 on top of Snow White/Pooh (also just 1 building)The question of money in firework shows has been debated many times over the years (not on the boards, but in other places, everybody that says they know has a different answer! We once met a taxi driver in Phily who claimed an outragous number and i just nodded my head and agreed, did not wish to argue!)

hope that answers your question try here for some photos, maybe you can find some.

There are actually only 10 locations, 5 and 5. And also to sorta answer your question civileng68. The launch site is within that photo.Hard to see since it's kinda small.

The main firing location is north of the MK, well behind the park, but inside the road that runs from behind BTM to the roundhouse/central shops area. It is actually quite a bit farther back than you would think.

This photo does not show it, but it would if it went down just a bit more.

The photo in the first post is very small, but yes it's in there. Look at the road that runs right to left near the top of the photo.
See the little turn-in just south of the body of water? Its not a road, just sort of a turn-in. Best I can tell from that photo...thats it.

Terribally sorry, i could of sore i read 12 in the Mickey Moniter, but after i looked up some pictures of Wishes, and did some extensive reasearch ( ) I have concluded that you are correct. That makes for a total of 11 locations. Sorry for the error.

I think I may have found a job for my brother. He's got to be one of the biggest pyro's I've ever met that isn't professional. He loves fireworks and cannot wait for this weekend. Luckily, fireworks (well most kinds) aren't legal in the state of IL and he can't get them without driving for hours. That's even better since he doesn't have a car yet. I'll have to look more into that job as it would be cool but really dangerous. I commend those brave men and women! :king:

Just about every kind of firework is legal here. It's oly legal on July 4th in the county, but drive liek 30 minutes and presto! Fireworks galore! Oh, BTW, call an ambulance at about 11 o'clock this Sunday... <.<

Back on topic, that launch site really isn't that big.

Also, I don't mean to start a big argument, but does anybody know about how much IllumiNations costs? Like, just an estimate? I'm gonna regret asking this, aren't I? :hammer:

Looks like I'm going to have fun with my family this weekend. I might want to have that ambulance here ahead of time just in case. I shall drive to the WI/IL border in a couple days and load up on fireworks now. I'll put on a Disney-esque show. Man are credit cards a glory to have!
