When will Epcot get Capt EO back?

Is everything in Innovations exempt because it is temporary?

You can't pick and choose when to apply criteria.

Support for EO blosters the arguement that Epcot fans live in the past.

There is no reason for EO to return. Move forward, not back.

Hope you had a good trip!

Different type of temporary, Mr. Jake-I-take-everything-literally. :D:lol:

Those are temps by nature. They come, they go, they interact and show the true spirit of the park. A 3D film brought back for park history show's the PAST idea for the park, and a retrospective look is never a bad thing, as long as it's just a look.

I don't think that EPCOT fans are stuck in the past. We just want to see the same type of showmanship that was used back then. (perspective based, as I am sure you are thinking.) There is a reason to bring it back, and in that, is the opportunity to pay tribute to MJ, and the other one of bringing back a little history. Much like Great Moments in DL.

Fantastic trip. :D TR will be up tomorrow.

I think Americas MJ high is over. With that being said, when it would finally be implemented as a show, it would not be worth seeing anymore.
You of all people have to see how this is a large step back for the theming of not only epcot but of Imagination as well. How long are you expecting them to play this? TDO will have an excuse to play this on longer than it needs to be and will ultimately cry "bad economy" as to why EO has stayed in Imagination for more than a year and why the refurb hasnt happened. We cant have everything:shrug: Its either EO or Refurb IMO And even though I love MJ i kind of want dreamfinder and a new imagination, I think thats better nostalgia and a better fit.
Glad to hear you had a great trip cant wait to hear the report

ok now I understand, because I don't want someone thats been accused of child molestation several times in a disney park, I''m closed minded. he must have paid off all those families because he "loved" the children so much. anyone representing disney should be held to a higher standard, both on and off the stage, just like cm's are.
and for all those people trying to guess what Walt would have wanted, how do you think he'd feel about this?

Yes you are, because you can't comprehend the difference between a human begin in person and a picture on a wall showing nothing that's related to the things you hate about him, made long before anybody had a bad opinion of him. One is fiction, one is relaity. You can't seperate the two because you don't want to. I'm guessing your appalled at Fox for releasing The Towering Inferno to Blu-ray as well because OJ is in it. Doesn't matter if it was released some 20 years before the trial and doesn't promote murder, if OJ's in it, you likely think it has to be destoryed and erased from the public memory.

MJ is not coming back to the park and never will because he's dead. Although, ironically he did come to the parks even after the accusations.

EO played in Disneyland and Disneyland Paris years after the accusations started, so I don't think bringing it back is any morally worse.

Thank you for proving my point about only seeing what you want to see. The stupidity surrounding most of the backlash to EO coming is luaghable, even more so because no matter how much you or anyone else gets upset, it's still coming to Disneyland in February.

...and for all those people trying to guess what Walt would have wanted, how do you think he'd feel about this?

I'm not one of those people nor care for that all to easy to call excuse. What would Walt think of Tower of Terror?

It would bring more people in but at what cost? In order to update the film it would cost money, and in order to put it in the theater it would cost money. Even if it is temporary they are going to end up spending alot of money, and when the time would come to take it down and refurb imagination, management will say "well we spent money on this "new" show lets keep it around longer"

ITS NOT WORTH IT

Ride it out with HISTA and let Disneyland have MJ, if you really want to see EO, watch it online or go to california

Well, the news has dies down, I do agree, but there still is the "buzz" about MJ. His songs are much more apparent, now, you still see Merch being made, and the like. I think this would add to it.

I already said that this is not good for the theme of EPCOT. I know that. If this were done randomly, it would not be a good thing. However, there's a REASON. I think that makes it an exception.

If it does come here, I really don't think it will be here for THAT long. That would be odd, and that would be a step backwards. Even though they are infamous for extended stays, this is TEMPORARY. I'm confident that TDO knows that, especially in a sensitive case like this.

Don't think it'll be EO or Refurb. I think the refurb is coming, though I don't know when....and this should not get in the way.

Trip was awesome, thanks...and Part I is up now. ;) Link in my sig.

There is a reason now....but there was NO REASON to begin with. It does not fit in FW. Never did, never will.

What she told me was that the film itself was damaged, not the equipment. I'm just repeating what I was told. I know CM scuttlebutt isn't always true. I'm just saying what I was told.
It's not damaged, just really warped.......If ya get my drift

I dont care for MJ, but at least the nostalgic film will give me a reason to visit the theater that I have not visited for many years. If it hinders a refurb of the Imagination pavilon than I would rather not see it come back, but to site that it will hinder the refurb is purley speculation because we dont know if there is even a time table for the rumored refurb. All being said, I want to have a reason to go in the theater again so I hope it comes back for a short stint.

So Disney should waste money on a dated film that never fit in EC to bring in people for one day.

I don't see how it's wasting money. Putting any sort of money into that theater would be a good thing. Disney is wasting money now with HISTA. Running shows to empty theaters, that's wasting money.

EO would bring people in for a few months, not just a day. And it didn't fit into Epcot? It was imaginative, it's central theme was that humanity was lively and had a future, it included the arts of color and music. Sounds like it fit into Epcot to me.

^So much win in this post. I am so tired of real-world-idealists starting to cross the line and try and mess with FICTION. A Video Game is just a Video Game. (Try cracking down on real crime instead of trying to legislate depictions of crime in a friggin' video game) Animation is just Animation. And a Movie is just a Movie.

The day we start applying real world rights and accusations to fictional things is the day we as a society have lost our intelligence.

Wait? We already have? Nevermind then.

Anybody know how long CEO will be at DL? I may go again in July and would love to see it. Would love to see it in Epcot too though and cant see why DL can get it but WDW cant. I guess its a matter of wdw getting the short end of the stick again.

actually artists and other celebrities are judged everyday on things they do outside of their profession, professional athletes lose endorsements and others are fired all the time for violating a morality clause in their contract, without any convictions by the court.

It's really not about being an idealist, I just don't think it would appropiate to have a show around a performer thats had so many problems with the law concerning children, there's just too many performers out there that represent disney better.

we as guests should be wanting to get away from shows that are on their way to 30 years old anyways. there has to something more innovative than this.
