Hello all! We're thinkin' of a Disneyland getaway. Want to know if it's crowded Dec. 18-24 Most of the literature says it's good to go the first three weeks of Dec. So I'm not sure. Or would it be better to go after Jan.1st? Both weeks are doable for us. We would like to see all the Christmas decor and festivities though... A quandry... Thanks! - Michael

You should be fairly ok that week before Christmas - not empty, but ok. Schools are out as of the 17th for Christmas Break - that will add some to the crowds. The week following will be very busy. I don't remember the exact date but for some reason Jan 2 seems to stick on my mind as the last day of the Holiday Decor/Rides.

Thanks RU! Does anyone know for sure when the Christmas Decorations are taken down? Would they still be up the first week of January?

I would assume January 2nd...they usually like to extend these things through the weekend after New Years (before they start cutting the hours back). I would imagine it will be crowded the week before Christmas, but not ungodly, and you are more likely to have no crowds (but ride closures) after January 1st. However, I doubt they will already have the castle covered It takes a good week to do that.
