When is Disney going to open up and expand like The Four Seasons Resort and any other resorts at Disney? I know there is a Ritz Carlton in Orlando-how close is it from the Walt Disney World Resort?

To Magic Kingdom from Ritz is about a 28 min drive not counting traffic as far as the first part of your question could you please clarify what exactly you are looking for in a resort people are happy to help...well most people.

Are you aware of The Grand Floridian, The Yacht Beach Club, The Polynesian, The Boardwalk, The Contemporary, Bay Lake Towers, The numerous Villas and Suites, The Swan, and The Dolphin, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge and oodles of hotel located on property sparing you the great distance of transport?

If so what is you aversion to these options? At any rate I hope this helps in some way.

Four Seaons is not owned by Disney, nor is it on their land.

To clarify, Disney sold the portion of Walt Disney World land that Four Seasons will occupy to them. So, it is on former WDW land, but is not technically on WDW land. It is still unusually close to the Magic Kingdom for an outside hotel.

Still not as close, though, as the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Polynesian ... all beautifully themed, full-service hotels on the monorail next to MK.

Sadly, those are not in the same league as your typical Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. Not even close. When they have cabana boys who will come by and adjust my umbrella for me, and deliver me drinks, then we can talk.

OP: you might look into the recenly-opened Waldorf=Astoria. It is in the Bonnet Creek complex, right next to CBR, just south of Epcot. It's not on RCID/WDW property, but it has the appearance of being "inside the gates" so the location is excellent.

Let's not get carried away....

 It is my dream to stay at the contemporary and watch all of the action from my interior balcony. I never really stay at resorts because I make a lot of day trips rather than overnight stays, but still, a dork can dream...

LOL. O.K., well-themed, if not all "beautifully" themed.

I do still like the Contemporary, and I like what they have done with the furniture lately. (It is contemporary and has many nice marble/glass/dark wood features in the rooms, and of course has the requisite flat-screen TV.) So, it may not count as "beautiful," but I think it is still well-appointed and themed.

And, of course, location, location, location.

Not to mention the best marina on property... with the most watercraft to rent. (One of my favorite things to do.)

The Four Seasons resort planned will be on Disney property and will be relatively close to the parks. North of EPCOT and SE of Magic Kingdom. At this point it is still a proposed project I believe. It is part of Disney's Golden Oaks development which is 1.5 million+ private homes in a development which is in the middle of Walt Disney World property.

You can see plenty of info on the planned community and it's related Four Seasons Resort if you search "Golden Oaks Disney", the development's construction is well underway. I haven't seen any timetables for completion of the Four Seasons though.

It is all just personal taste. I absolutely abhor the architecture and decor of the GF. However, I love the minimalist decor and clean lines of the Contemporary and BLT.

You sir get 5 points for using the word abhor.

I'll stick to the Polynesian over the either 2 if given the choice. However, the proposed GF DVC will probably see me stopping by there every now and again (if they don't want 300 points a night for a studio that is).

I love the Poly as well. While it has more "clutter" than the Contemporary and BLT the clutter seems organic and natural. The GF on the other hand always looks overdone. I can still appreciate the craftsmanship (the marble work is nothing short of fine art) but adding things because you can vs because they are needed has never sat will with my eye.

Ive Never had the pleasure of staying at a 4 seasons BUT..I know In N.Y. The cheapest room is around $800 a night...I make a decent living but could NEVER justify spending that much on a Room . I dont care how much they adjust my umbrella and deliver drinks to me pool side...Ill stick to Ak or Pofq...Its woth the $4500.00 a week difference to adjust my own umbrella.

The land was de-annexed from Reedy Creek - in other words it was sold. It is no longer Disney property. Work is well underway, and has been for at least a year. This is how it will end up if built to plan:
