when exactly are the holiday workweeks

I'm and doing the CP in and really would like to take nov. 17th-20th off. This would most likely be the ONLY time I'd take off, unless I get super sick, but that rarely happens- I could also try to arrange my flights so that I could work on the 17th in the mornng before I leave and on the 20th in the evening when I get back. BUT thanksgiving is that following thursday, on the 23rd, and I know we basically can't get time off when there's a major holiday crowd. SO how exactly does that work? what day would they stop letting people take off? Like a full week in advance to a holiday?? or just a few days? I know this is kind of confusing, if you need me to clarify just say so! thanks!!

The amount of time CPs get off depends on the FT and PT CMs. So as soon as you get down there, put in for those days right away. Hopefully you can get them off. I am trying to get my 21st birthday off in July- I have a reservation at CRT.

KCW, let your managers know far in advance and it will give them better flexibility to work around it to have another CM or CP fill in. Your coworkers are usually pretty good about helping each other out.

Just think of the weeks that school are on vacation across the country. So more then likely the 19th of nov. to the 25th for Thanksgiving, which would more then likely be a 6 day work week for all CPers.

Now I am not saying you will not be able to get it off, but it is a popular week for full-timers to request off to spend time with their families. Just request the time of ASAP when you get there.

What is the process for requesting time off?

How exactly do you go about requesting time off? Has anyone asked for time off on their CP before? I'm doing the Spring 2007 CP, but have a religious conference that I previously committed to. I need to be able to go for at least one day of the conference in February.

I'd figure I'll ask for Feb. 9th off, because then I would have been on the CP for 30 solid days by then. I think they really can't say no since it is for religious purposes.

Thanks.

one of the first things you need to do is talk to one of your managers and let them know of the situation
you should have no problem at all because early february is a very slow time

if worst comes to worse, you can talk with a fellow CM and ask them to pick up your shift (which has to be switched on Portal)

Juan is right. When you get here, go on the portal right away and put in for the request off. I am CR, but had to go to Washington DC for a conference for my full time job and requested off 2 days. They gave it to me w/o a problem when I requested it back in July...now the new scheduler screwed up, but let's not go there....

Once you get to your location, find out who the scheduling manager is. We have 3 managers at my location, and one of them is in charge of scheduling. that would be the mananger you definately want to talk to.

haha i thought the same thing too.... when you're a CP though, they really couldn't care less...well, they say they care and they're sorry, but not enough to atually do something about it! lol ya you're best bet is to get talking to people you work with right away and give them the guilt trip or offer to make them brownies if they take your shift! lol

it always worked for me
and lets just say the exent of cooking in my apartment was throwing frozen pizzas in the oven

haha no sorry hun! i just meant that even though religion is important, it doesn't mean enough for a huge corporation to make changes for an individual- especially a CP! I begged some scheduling lady to move my red time (which I didn't want in the first place) to a sunday, so that I could go to church (i've only been able to go twice since I've been here!!!!) and she couldn't because sundays are busier that wednesdays and they need us on the busier days of the weeks....i even asked a few managers if there was anyway I could at least put in a request to try not to be schdeuled on sundays....and it was a no-go... and honestly it's understandable.... so basically just don't get your hopes up that scheduling will be obligated to bend for religious reasons- but you should have good luck in just asking other cast members, people are usually pretty willing to help out!!

In that case I won't tell you about the Madeira Kitchen in Indian Rocks Beach, located about 90 minutes away from WDW on I4 W to I75 S which has quite possibly the BEST Brownie Sundae EVER
