When does Small World go down?

Anybody know the actual close down date for the refurbishment of It's A Small World?

I think (about 95% sure) that it closes at the end of june this year and opens the beginning of March next year! Its down for so long becasue it is having a 100% new refurb!! :king:

From what I've last heard, "it's a small world rehab" will take place June 7, 2004 - March 18, 2005.

Why would they close a ride like Its a Small World during the summer?? I would think they would do it in Jan when it is slower. I am really bummed about this since we are going in June and it is my dughter's favorite ride. She is going to be so upset She has down syndrome and is not going to understand that it is not open:veryconfu

That stinks - I'm very sorry about that.

From what people are saying, it's going to be a 10 month rehab, so it'd have to be closed during some peak periods unfortunately.

Unfortunetely, since it is down for a year it would have spanned over our peaks times at some point. Once it reopens it will be better than ever, from what I have read it should be at least...

not sure where you all are getting your information, but "it's a small world" is already closed, and has been for about a month. It reopens around March 17, 2005.

Completely true! Small World closed May 2, 2004 and will be down until spring 2005. www.disneyworld.com suggests peter pan's flight as an alternative during this time. I never understood why they gave such big attractions as alternatives, i would suggest smaller attractions as alternatives, so lines don't go out of control! (well peter's lines have ALWAYS been out of control!) Rehab. pictures can be found on the Magic Kingdom News and Rumors page of this site.
