There is nothing to love about WDW, WDWMagic has taught me so. It's a waste of time, there are BRAZILIANS, and it costs too much.

Then why do you keep coming back here?

Here is my story. My first trip to WDW was in early 1980. I was still single and went with a friend. At that time, there was only the Magic Kingdom. I have to tell you it didn't take long to do everything and there was no Splash Mt. and for some reason I remember riding Big Thunder Mt Railroad. Maybe there was a soft opening or maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. Anyway, after riding Space Mt for the third time (walk ons) we got bored and decided to leave. I was not impressed.

Several years later (around 1996) my youngest child was 6 and my wife decided that we ARE going to Disney. I told her ok but you will be disapointed. Well things had changed in a big way and after our first visit as a family we couldn't wait to go back. We have been going every-other-year since.

Disney is for ones who love Disney..... not for everyone. However, it is not Disney's fault there are Brazilians. I have gone last week of May for years and crossed school groups and Brazilians. Go around them; if you love Disney you can ignore the Brazilians and if you love Disney you will find a way to pay for a trip that brings your family together and make wonderful memories to carry you through your life. Disney IS happy times for some of us. Sorry to hear you feel this way; maybe there is something else out there for you.

I remember my first real love to Disney was rewatching the Disney Sing Along Songs which was shot at Disneyland in 1990 and "The Spirit Of Mickey" from 1997. My love for Disney went a bit higher when House Of Mouse began in 2001.

Walt's features of the park and rides on Wonderful World of Color started a lot of us dreaming of going to Disney one day. Sunday nights were always Disney nights in my house. Unfortunately I didnt get to experience WDW until I was an adult. My first steps onto Main Street did it for me too. I'm glad I was able to take my son to Disney when he was young and pass that love of Disney onto him right away.

When The Wonderful World Of Disney was still on the air on ABC. It always made me excited for Sunday nights similar to Saturday Morning Cartoons.

Thanks to Walt Disney, the Sunday night movie (was it Sunday? i think it was...) and Disney advertising, I think I always wanted to go. I don't remember a time when I didn't want to visit Disney, lol.

But the first person to send me to Orlando was my boss, when I was an adult. I'd always suspected I'd like it, but I had the most amazing experience. It was fun. It was clean. There was all that street stuff. Lovely landscaping. I went on few rides because the lines were so long, but came back raving to everyone about how clean it was and how everywhere you went, there was stuff to see...and the details!!

I think I told every single person I knew how clean Disney's bathrooms were and how pretty all the landscaping was, lol. I was like, "No, they are CLEAN clean! Like, up to MY standards clean. No dirt. When I left the stall, someone went in to clean it...and I hadn't left any mess!" I couldn't stop telling people. It was all so impressive.

IASW was like an out of body experience. Even though I felt like an idiot, being an adult, all by myself, sitting in the boat...I was so impressed.

I think I made every newbie mistake possible on that trip and still had an EXCELLENT time.

The first year we went to Disney (2001), we did everything wrong from the time we booked the trip. We stayed at Caribbean Beach for 4 days and 3 nights, so we really only had 2 full days. But when we went to Magic Kingdom, I was standing at the beginning of Main Street and inside I was jumping up saying to myself I am here, I am here!!!! But my 8 year old nephew said it was the best year of his life!! I have never had a feeling like that in my life except at Disney. And we have never missed a year since 2001.

I agree some get it some do not....honestly? I did not go til I was 29, and had a baby with me so I did not go on many rides and was only there one day. I liked it but later understood you need more than one day to both figure it out and appreciate it. So many people I know who go for one day feel overwhelmed. That first trip I spent it with the inlaws who brought in peanut butter sandwhiches.....they don't get it. Anyhow it wasn't until several years later when I took both my children, we entered through those tunnels walked out onto main street and it hit me....I wanted to go on all those rides WITH my children, and in that very process the child inside fell in love with each and every detail. My oldest was about 7 and first comment was "whats so special about this?" I said wait and see.....he admitted liking it all for a good decade....while my youngest? I think will always get it and appreciate it. It became my first choice destination for vacation.

I was 4 years old and my Big Sister who was 7 years old was already watching Disney videos a lot. I was a squirmy worm and just couldn't sit through them. But in 2007 I watched Ratatouille sitting on my Moms lap with my Big Sister and didn't move the entire time. I was hooked on Disney then. I started watching all the Disney Movies with my Sister and putting on Disney singing concerts for my Mom with my Big Sister as well.
