When Boom met Support - Lego Zipper

Hi everybody! :)
Been busy these last few days finally getting to the point where the boom is mounted on the boom support. In order to facilitate the transfer of electrical current into the boom structure, I needed to build what is called a Commutator. It allows the flow of current between rotating joints. Mine is very crude! Simply 2 copper tube pieces mounted to the support shaft, and then 2 armatures(sp?) which rest on these copper pieces, as they turn. The electricity will be needed to power the 2 motors in the boom, which drive the bogeys around the boom. This is VERY bare bones, as you can see wire and all sorts of stuff all over the place. It will be cleaned up and looking neat when complete.
Thanks for looking!:)

If he's anything like my kids, he gets them every Christmas, birthday, Valentine's Day, and Easter. (yes, my 19 year old daughter still wants and gets them ;) )

Fortunately, they don't have as many as Tiltawhirl!! (just one cabinet full )

Cool Pics. were do you get all your legos from for your projects. It's expensive to buy the bins of them to get enough of them.
I usually buy from either ebay, or bricklink.com These are sources of bricks that are in new condition, since I am in the process of "re-patriating" my collection with only brand new elements so to speak. No doubt it is costly. And since I have this 'thing' about going to build something, and NOT having the right element(grrrr!)I try to stock up on things, as I anticipate future projects.

I think my next ride will be either the completion of the SuperLoop, or(more probably) I will try something like an Eli Bridge Company Scrambler, as I have been stocking up on light grey of late:hammer:

Consider it a blessing that you don't! My collection has become mill-stone proportion:brick: :D :)
