What's your sunscreen?

Sorry if this doesn't really fit here, but I guess it's the best spot for it on the forum.

We're going down for two weeks in the Florida sun, so that means a ton of sunscreen to buy. What kind do you use? What do you like about it? Feel? Price? Non-deadly ingredients?

For face: Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen SPF 60+

For body: Up&Up (Target brand) Sport Sunscreen Spray SPF 50 (knockoff of a similar Coppertone product)

DW and I are both very pale and burn easily and neither of us got burned at all on our July trip.

They also sell a SPF 100 Neutrogena that my wife uses

I am also a Neutrogena lover. It has a nice smell and it goes on "dry". It does not have that greasy/slimy feel to it and stays on good.

Neutrogena is my preference. Great, consistent protection and it goes on dry. They also have a version that can be applied to wet skin which is essential if you are at the pool, water park or are sweating profusely due to high temperatures and humidity so high that fish can swim through the air.

I am very rarely out in the sun for extended periods of time. So when I am, I tend to burn pretty easily. I read some consumer survey (probably Consumer Reports) and it had Equate (Walmart brand) SPF 50 Sport at the top. I gave it a try last month when I was outside all weekend in the direct sunlight. I didn't burn! It went on easily, and didn't leave my hands oily or waxy. Very neutral smell, too.

I'm a 70's baby - burn, peel, and then tan. I need to get rid of that old skin somehow. I'm half kidding about that, usually Coppertone Sport for the kids several times a day and me a spray here and there.

Coppertone Sport . It gives good protection, and I like the easy spray application. But I always bring Solarcaine with me just in case because both DW & I burn easily. That FL sun feels great, especially after being in a chilly environment but it isnt very guest friendly.

I am a 70s baby too and funny thing is we never wore sunblock as a kid and never burnt. But now I need to put it on. IDK if it is lack of ozone or whatever but the sun seems so much hotter then it did when we were kids.

I used to use the oil free 30 or 50 SPF Coppertone because I'm so sensitive but after breaking out and also getting the worst sunburn ever my last trip back in June, never again(but the dr said it's probably just me because of meds I was on) Anyway, now I have two go to brands that are all natural.
Sun Bum Signature http://shop.trustthebum.com/sun-bum-signature-spf-50-sunscreen-3-0-oz/
Alba Botanical: http://www.albabotanica.com/sun/sun-protection/fragrance-free-broad-spectrum-spf-30.html

Yes, they can be pricey. You can find them cheaper in places like Target and Walgreens and Amazon. It's also a small container but goes a long way, they also have spray but my personal preference is the cream/lotion.

Best of luck!

I second this!

That is a picture of the one we always buy. It certainly goes on dry and as long as we apply once in the morning and once later in the day we're good!

For sunscreen I like Coppertone and Banana Boat 50+, sport varieties. At high sun hours I also cover up with a Columbia PFG Bahama shirt, UPF 30. You can find them at sporting goods stores (or websites) under Fishing Gear. They cost around $50 and if you burn easily they're worth every penny and more. Lightweight, breathable, they dry really fast if they get wet and come in a variety of colors (and several other styles). Highly recommend.

It may not be available in the US so may not be of much help to you unless you're from the UK but on my last trip I used ultrasun once a day spf30 which was great a little greasy to start with but sinks in quickly and you forget it's there. I burn easily but didn't burn once on my last trip. I used to use P20 which is great but stains clothes the ultrasun doesn't.

We use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunblock in SPF 100 for our body and Neutrogena Clear Face SPF 55 for our face as it does not cause break outs. I find they both go on very nice and I do not have to reapply that often. We are very pale and have avoided getting burned both visits using these two products. Also, the tubes are lightweight so you can carry them with you.
