The Velcro Comapny has decided to end its sponsorship with INNOVENTIONS, so the show “What’s Your Problem?” at Slap Stick Studios will close on February 5, 2011.

I have spent far less time visiting Innoventions the past several years. I often don't enter the buildings at all when visiting EPCOT. I wonder about the attendance numbers, in relation to any sponsorship issues.

Unfortunately, it's a double edged sword. Sponsors want to see attendance. So as they lose attractions, people have less reasons to visit, so less sponsors, less attractions, etc. Unfortunately WDW doesn't do a good job in my opinion of promoting what is inside. Admittedly it doesn't seem to show as many innoventions as it might have once done, but instead seems to becoming a place for WDW to stick in smaller attractions for small budget sponsors. I don't think a Velcro exhibit would really bring in many visitors, but it brings in more than the empty spaces that seem to be growing.

Yeah, we normally walk through but only to cool off or warm up depending on the time of year. There just really isn't much interesting there.

I have to agree. I have seen greater advances in technology and construction displayed at local home shows than I have at Innoventions the past several years.

At least during my last 3 visits, I haven't stepped inside either side of Innoventions. I always feel guilty when I get back because I know there's quite a bit to do in there, but it doesn't seem as cool to me now as it did when I was younger. I just don't feel like with how quickly updates in technology happen that they are able to keep this looking towards the future. Not to mention the rapid loss of sponsors in Epcot is very discouraging to hear. :(

Would anyone miss it if they just gutted both sides and turned one into a new Horizons and the other a new WoM? :D

In all seriousness though, would those buildings be able to house an attraction or ride?

It seems that the pavilion has become a showcase as opposed to a place for technology. However, a lot of the attractions inside are fun and interesting. A friend and I were guilted by the greeter CM into seeing the What's your Problem show last year, and we ended up really enjoying it. I am also a fan of the liberty mutual fire game that they have in Innoventions as well.

I agree; my entire family enjoyed that "show" on multiple trips to EP. It's a shame that it will be closing....

A night time security guard on Saturday night was caught sleeping in the "What's Your Problem" green room. Evidently he though the company was going to pay for his nap.

I'm sorry to hear about the closure. I have had a lot of fun playing that game. My Mom and I played last year. Attendance was so low that all of us had to play the game. We received stickers at the end.

The games at Innoventions are a lot of fun. We laughed so hard playing the recycling one and the Great Piggy Bank one. I wish more people enjoyed them.
