What's your longest road trip to get to WDW?

In July we will be going from Indianapolis! About 16 hours I believe, maybe a little more than that. We usually fly, but not this time. Any suggestions on how to avoid getting completely tired out from the drive down? After all that driving I am usually too wiped out to do anything.

If you can aford to I would not drive right through the night. We did that & were very tired. I recomend grabbing a hotel room for a few or more hrs of sleep. (when we drove it was from WI(check location^^)...I don't remember how long it took though.
Also remember to stop at the FL pit stop right after the boarder for some fresh OJ depending on the time of day & the Disney pit stop which is around 45min. past the boarder. They have all sorts of disney info & a merchandise shop.
Have Fun & if you need help planning the best way to get there just let me know.

When we drove from Milwaukee, WI, it took us three days. The first day we got to Nashville, the 2nd day, we got to Valdosta, GA, & the last day we got to Disney. I think it took us about 22 hours.

It really depends on how much you stop. Like you said it took you three days stoping every night. It was about a day in a half when we did stop. We used to not stop then it took about 22 hrs. you are correct.

We drive from central PA. We like stopping in Jacksonville. Been staying at the Marriot Sawgrass, but this year we are staying at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. We'll stay one night, have a nice breakfast the next morning and be on the road by 8:00 AM.

Then We'll take A1A down the coast to Daytona, then catch I-4 there. It's a nice drive down the coastline in the morning.

Have fun!

We drove from Omaha Nebraska last summer. 25 hours of driving time. We drove it straight through on the way there, with a 2 hour rest stop in GA at 4am for a quick nap. My hus loves to drive. He drove all of it except for about 2 hours that I drove out of GA. I HATE driving where I am not familiar with the area, especially in cities. I especially hate St Louis and Nashville. We were detoured out of Nashville in the middle of the night and ended up having to stop for directions, which was rather scary.

We actually drove to Daytona Beach, and we rested up there for 2 days before we got into the Orlando area, so we were quite refreshed when we got to Disney. 2 days with absolutely no plans, in a beachfront hotel was total bliss!

On our way home we also drove it straight through, but we stopped a little longer but I can't remember where. I think a rest stop in Kentucky or Tennessee. About 4 hours that time. I drove from St Louis to Kansas City but my hus did the rest of the driving.

We did this with 3 kids age 13, 9 and 6. And actually had a really good time!

We drove down from the Boston area back in summer 2001. We were driving for 2 days straight (not sure how many hours.) Not something I recommend since we were supposed to take three days. Everybody was in a bad mood when we finally got there (but on the plus side, we went to Universal IOA on the extra day.) We've been flying there ever since. The car trip thing is something you have to do once, but only once.:)

Leaving @ 8:00pm from Pennsylvania and driving all night :snore: . Should hit Georgia around 7:00am, eat breakfast :slurp: and be at our vacation home by 1:00pm. Total drive time = around 15 hours. First time driving, can't wait to hit I-95 outside DC around 11:00pm and set the cruise for 75 :goodnevil and keep rolling toward the Magic Kingdom! :king:

We drove from Washington State, it took us nearly 5 days, but we loved it all. After that trip, we decided it was better to stay at disneyland until we moved closer, only takes us 15 hours now from ohio.

We did that one time. Our room wasn't ready yet, and we were so tired. We ended up sleeping in the lobby of the Poly waiting for our rooms. We were to tired to even go to the parks.

Now we leave about 5:00 AM and arive in Jacksonville FL aound 7:00 PM, sleep overnight, and get an early, rested start. Get to AKL at about 11:00 AM or so, leave the bags at the resort if the room isn' ready yet, and go have fun. Much better when you're rested.

Have fun, and get some sleep!

Wow, I thought we were the only ones crazy enough to drive that far.
Some of you guys definitely have me beat......22 hours! Washington State?!!! I think I would go insane on a car trip for that long! And you guys from the UK, well I can't imagine being on a plane for that long, but it's probably better than driving because you can sleep assuming there's no screaming babies in the near vicinity.

I think we are going to try to make it to southern GA/Fl border and spend the night. We are taking I-75 down. Any hotel suggestions for that area?
