What's your FAVORITE thing to do?

So, after an unexpected turn of events, it turns out I'm going to Disney in a little over a week. We're going for about five days, with park hopper and water park options. I've only been to WDW twice: once as a small child, and once again on a short school trip where I had to follow a schedule and stick with a group. This time it's just me and my brother.

So, my question to you guys is: what should I absolutely prioritize?? I've never been to EPCOT, so I'm definitely gonna try to go there. I'm also gonna try for Blizzard Beach, because I've always wanted to go since I was a little girl. But I'm kind of overwhelmed with the rest.

I'm asking you guys because I figure you know the most. I figure it would be a good excuse to have a fun thread for everyone's favorite attractions and things to do!!

Sooooo?

epcots tough because the world showcase has so much to offer. i would rope drop soaring than fast pass test track or vice versa and rest of the visit can be slow and relaxed. be sure to ride spaceship earth "the giant sphere" as well. the rest of future world is meh. universe of energy is still cute if you have time. than try to eat lunch in the world showcase (pick your fav style) i really enjoy the rose and crown. and soak it all up.

Everyone's idea of a perfect Disney trip is different. I like to pin trade, I have rides I'll do over and over again, I'm not a parade fan, I love fireworks. I'd suggest you get a good guide book to read through, watch online ride throughs, visit some trip reports, and decide what youd enjoy most, then target those things first. Come up with a good plan, utilize EMH's, and make your trip special for you. Dont expect to do everything, be patient with the lines and crowds and make the best of the time you have.

If you're trying to get the most stuff done in trip, I'd recommend doing the trip commando style. That's what my family does. It's not for everyone, but ALL THE RIDES!!!!!

1. Get to your park each day at rope drop.
2. Get a map and tackle one ride at a time in proximity to each other. Running from Frontierland to Tomorrowland and back wastes time.
3. Do not park hop, you're just wasting precious time.
4. Quick service for lunch and don't try to eat at noon (mob scene), try to eat earlier, like 11:30
5. Do your table service meals at restaurants in the parks (leaving the park wastes time)
6. Get fastpasses for rides with long lines - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Test Track, etc.
7. Download the app, it has wait times

Since you haven't been much before, you have to do EVERYTHING! But of course there's no way in five days when also trying to fit in a water park. But you can do almost everything. It'll really be about deciding what to miss, which is very personal. Me, I wouldn't see every parade or every fireworks show. I'd skip most of the Fantasyland dark rides. I just whiz through World Showcase. I won't do TSMM because the lines can be nuts and I don't think it's that great. I might even skip Rafiki's Planet Watch and some of the trails at AK, because I'm not a huge zoo fan.

Also, efficiency is your friend. Be through the ticket gates before rope drop, maximize fastpass, avoid criss-crossing the park, keep park-hopping to a minimum, preferably when you can get to a park with later hours.

-Get on the WDW website and study the maps, read up on the rides, and get an idea for what rides and food places are in each park you'd like to try. Get the WDW app now and starting checking wait times to get an idea of what they'll be next week.
-Check park hours to plan which park to visit on which day to take advantage of late closings or Extra Magic Hours.
-Make rope drop every day and stay until park closing. (If that's too much for you, go back to your room for a midday break or swim) We go left at rope drop and knock out the Adventure rides easily, then head to our first FP.
-Make FP for the rides with longer lines and don't forget to use your app to get more after using your initial 3. Don't make one of those initial 3 for late at night- you won't be able to get anymore until ALL 3 FPs have been used.

Epcot, for all the griping we do here about it, is a cool place. Use FP for Soarin', Frozen, and Test Track, or go single rider on Test Track. You can sprint for either at rope drop, too, but be sure to double back at some point for Spaceship Earth. Living With the Land is a restful ride through innovative greenhouses, and the Sunshine Seasons cafe in the lobby is very good. World Showcase is beautiful at night and has many food options. Tangerine Cafe quick service at Morocco is one of our favorites, as is Norway's pastry/sandwich shop (Kringla). When checking out the different countries, be sure to see more than just the shops. Canada has a huge waterfall and several countries have exhibits.

Having said the above, I'd also recommend that you relax and enjoy. You can't get see and do everything, but that's OK. Having an idea of what is there and having a list of priorities will be helpful, though.

If possible, allow more than 1 day at Epcot. There is so much to do that one day will not be enough. Illuminations is a Must. That said, you will obviously do the headliners and such, but don't forget about the smaller things.

Visit Club Cool and try the various offerings. Make sure to drink the Beverly...it's delightful. I like to just hammer it down in big mouthfuls...no sipping needed.

Go into the Mexico Pyramid and explore. They have some cool stuff in there, including a boat ride.

Watch the Acrobats in China and the Circle vision movie. Actually, just take in all of the movies at each Country that offers one.

Explore the store in Japan and maybe even "Pick a Pearl".

Don't forget to explore the Living Seas pavilion and the Land pavilion.

2 days to explore all of the magic kingdom has to offer. Take time to ride the WDW Railroad. Make sure to ride the People Mover in Tomorrowland. Either plan on an early day as the park opens, or a late night when park closes later ( evening extra magic hours). You will be exhausted if you try to stay all day!

Have fun. I'd suggest 2 days at Magic Kingdom. I agree about riding the People Mover. One thing I like to do is take pictures of Cinderella's Castle when it's lit up at night.

Bored right now in class, so I'll right up some recommendations you could follow.

For Epcot, get a Frozen FP if you can, but, if not, I would go for Soarin. Do Test Track single rider (never waited more than 5 minutes last July). If you just won't do single rider, rope drop it. Epcot is a good park to just sort of take in slowly and relax in. It is low on attractions but high on things to do overall. Be sure to do a World Showcase table service restaurant and explore that area thoroughly. For other FPs than Soarin, do Spaceship Earth and Mission: Space. Everything else will have minimal wait in the morning (and really the whole day).
For MK, get a FP for Peter Pan, Splash, and Space. Rope drop Seven Dwarfs if that is important to you (I usually skip it these days). If not, go to Adventureland getting Jungle Cruise, Pirates, then Big Thunder and Mansion. Try to get your day of FP for Buzz. Everything else should be easy to get on (if you care more about FL rides, consider doing 7 Dwarfs then Pooh followed by the Adventureland plan above and prioritize anything that you want to do in particular; this is you trip!). Waits shouldn't be too bad next week anyway.
At AK, get Safaris, Rapids, and Everest. You could rope drop Dinosaur, but that isn't necessary. Just be sure to get it before 10:30 or so or maybe in the evening. I would go to Safaris for a ride while the animals are lively and awake. After that have a relaxing day checking out the shows and animal exhibits, I save the rides for night now since that is when they really shine (mainly Rapids and Everest which are significantly better and never have much of a wait at a night). If you have no interest in the morning safari and ambiance, you could just sleep in and enjoy an afternoon and evening. Be sure to do the trails!
And at DHS, get a FP for ToT, Star Tours, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Oddly enough, with the new capacity, I was able to get a few "of day" FPs for Toy Story after Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Maybe it was just luck, but it was really great luck nonetheless. If Toy Story is important to you in any way however, get that FP and single rider RnRC (I'm honestly not a big fan of the ride). There are only like 2 other rides, so you should be fine. Honestly, you could probably sleep in this day (I do on DHS day usually). See shows since there is very little else to do in this park.

Be sure to check sites like themeparkinsider and disneytouristblog for more specific attraction recommendations. These are my go-tos.

One of the things I enjoy doing is visiting the Polynesian. You can get a drink at the Tambu Lounge or grab a Dole Whip and walk around the property. If you time it right, you could even hang around and watch Wishes from the beach!

I say go with the flow. Get fast passes for your must do's then just go play the rest by ear.
I agree with you. Make sure you get fast passes to the must do rides you want, then go with the flow. IF you are always worrying about what you want to do next you will miss the small moments in between that are the most magical
