The simple answer would be a combination of the OLC caring more about Show than US execs do, as well as they understand the concept of "You have to spend money to make money".

I'm not quite sure what the complex answer would be though.

It is actually their ability to borrow in the first place. Japanese interest rates have been virtually 0% for most of OLC's existence and Japanese companies typically gear up their companies significantly (gearing is the ratio of debt to equity). They simply can spend more money as they can borrow it all.

would this have anyhting to do in the recession of japan's economy?
cuz i just wish wdw would be up to par with the japanese parks.
to me TDL is truly themeing at its finest. when imagineers are allowed to be creative without as many bduget constraints

Luckily, I understand there have been some... manueverings... that will allow some of their stuff to come over here a lot easier than before.

I would love it if they yanked the stunt show at the Studios and put in the Indy ride.

And then they could always add Journey to the Center of the Earth at Animal Kingdom.

Of course I really want 20k Leagues back even if it's their version.

Kinda doubt any of those will happen soon though.
