What's the best WDW thing you observed that made you smile

There have been so many things that make me smile at the parks that it is hard to choose just one. One that sticks out to me was this little girl I saw, she was maybe 4, all dressed up in her princess dress. Her family was waiting on Main Street for a parade, and she started dancing to the music that was playing. Her dad got up, bowed, said "May I have this dance your highness," and then he picked her up and started dancing with her. It was just really sweet.

About a year ago, my boyfriend and I were in Gaston's Tavern and all of a sudden Gaston came in, escorting a little boy. He was showing the child around the tavern and he told him to sit in his chair and insisted that it was a special privilege because he didn't usually let people sit in his chair. They took pictures together inside the tavern and the whole time we were just in awe; witnessing how happy Gaston made that child was such a magical experience,

That child will grow up to be President one day, mark my words.

Here's one that I kinda did. I just got off of Star Tours & was walking towards Hollywood Blvd. As I'm walking a mom & her son were going to Star Tours. He was asking her how they made it so you felt like you were moving when you weren't actually going anywhere. The mom was struggling for an answer, so I looked over and said, "They use the Force, that's how." The mom smiled appreciatively and said to the boy, "See?" The lad seemed satisfied with that answer.

I just love seeing children smiling, giggling, laughing when CM's interact with them or when they get excited seeing their favorite character. My favorite was in Crystal Palace during a Winnie Pooh parade. There was a child with downs syndrome that was exuberant over Pooh. He could hardly contain himself when Pooh came over. Pooh had him lead the parade around the room. I had tears in my eyes because I was so happy for him having that moment of joy.

My girls and I were eating at WCC and there was a family sitting at the next table with a little girl in a high chair probably about 14 months. The restaurant had a lot of people wanting ketchup that day so it was going around and everyone was yelling "ketchup" really loud. All of a sudden the little girl started in with her cutie pie little voice yelling "keshup , keshup, keshup". Cutest thing ever!

Many years ago during my 1st visit to WDW we traveled with my MIL & FIL & my husbands nan for her 80th birthday, she was proper old school & could be a bit buttoned up particularly when it came to character interactions.

Anyway we had just wandered off the bridge at Epcot & down to the store at the international gateway when we ran into the main mouse, he was all alone with no obvious minder/friend & there was absolutely no one else other than our family around. In the background the piped music was playing & was if not an actual waltz was at least a waltz beat. Nan as normal was standing back & reluctant to interact when Mickey walked over bowed & indicated that he wished to dance with her & promptly lead her in a very skilled (particularly when you think about his shoes) waltz around the international gateway plaza.

Nan blushed & smiled & danced, then after a few minutes Mickey bowed & moved onto her daughter my MIL before finally finishing with me, Nan never directly spoke about it but I saw her brush a quick tear from her eye, its a smile that has truely lasted years.

Sadly neither Nan or my MIL is still with us but ever visit to Epcot rememinds me of this very special memory & makes me smile all over again even if its with a small tear as well.

When Nan passed I was given her holiday diary from this trip, on this day all it says is visited Epcot, danced with Mickey, had a lovely day.

What could make you smile more?

I've seen a lot. mostly kids meeting characters, interacting with them, getting hugs. adults too.
myself personally, I was sitting on Main Street waiting for a parade, & was serenaded by the Dapper Dans because it was my birthday & they saw the pin I was wearing.

Back in the days when you got your fast pass tickets from the fast pass machines my wife and I had two fast passes for the Safaris at Animal Kingdom. We were there at rope drop and had already rode it once then got the Fast Passes for later. We decided at the last moment that we didn't want to do it again and went back to the ride entrance and by now the wait was a hour. We saw a young couple who were obviously upset about the long wait time and we gave them our tickets and the smiles were well worth it. We have done this again since then on Soarin and it's amazing how good it feels to make others smile.

On my trip in 2012, my brother and I were waiting for the bus back to the resort from MK. Across the road, heading towards the bus stops on the other side were a father and son in full pirate gear having a sword fight. We watched them all the down the row of bus stops as they continued their duel into the queuing area. It was fun to watch!
