Considering this for our upcoming trip, our honeymoon. We will be there in November (first half of the month) and am wondering if this would be something appealing to us? Is it worth the money? We have never done this or the Halloween party so just looking for some info! Thanks!

I think MNSSHP is worth it, but MVMCP is not. Just MHO.

But I think everyone should go and make up their own minds. we all have different opinions! And i think that you should do the Christmas party first, if you want to do both. Leave the best for last. :)

We went before, the best part was the parks got quieter after a while so we got to do more. We enjoyed the snow falling on Main Street. The hot chocolate and cookies were welcome because the night we were there it did get a bit chilly. We dont do meet & greets anymore and I'm not a parade fan so they wouldnt thrill me. ( But my wife likes the parades) Being your first time ... I would say yeah go for it and experience it together. After the first time you will remember it, but might not see it as being worth it to opt to do it on a future trip.

I am also wondering the same thing. Never been to either the MNSSHP or MVMCP. I am thinking of doing the xmas party when I go in November.. It will be my god-daughters first trip and I think she will enjoy this. I am trying to make this a very special and memorable trip for her so I would love to experience this for the first time together. We will be there early Nov and judging from past prices and dates, looks like the price of tickets aren't as high as they are closer to xmas.

We've been to both. The first time we went to MNSSHP was w/o children and it was so I could meet Maleficient. The MVMCP was this past November, because I wanted to go and our GS8 wanted to go. We were a multi-generational group...DH, DS and family, DD and boyfriend, my brother and his family, and my mother. Many of the group haven't been to WDW as many times as my DH, DS, and DD have, so the experiences were new. My DD's boyfriend (hasn't been since he was 10; 30 now) was fascinated by the parade and the smells that were emitted by each individual float. He was amazed that it was 'magical' for all the senses. We will return in October to attend MNSSHP because our GS8 wants to go to that one too. I've enjoyed them both; I love parades.

Do them both at least once. We love them both, but the MNSSHP is the best to us. You can get the snow at Hollywood Studios at the Osborne Family Lights show if you don't want to do MVMCP.

We didn't really think it was worth the $; HOWEVER, everyone's take on this is different and I would have always wondered had we not tried it ourselves. Don't get me wrong- it's not awful...just not sure if it's worth that much $. Still, I think you should try it for yourself and see if it's for you...at the very worst you will see a great parade, wonderful fireworks, get some awesome cookies and cocoa, and if you're up for the lines- meet some characters in their holiday best.

The Halloween party without a doubt is definitely worth the extra price. The Xmas party IMHO is worth doing just once unlike the Halloween party where that is a better value overall. What I like about the Xmas party is the parade and the lighter crowds and being in the MK at night.

I've only done MVMCP, not the halloween one, but how I justify the expense is thus:
I buy 1 day less park tickets for my trip
On days of the MVMCP, being a separate ticketed event, the ticket will allow you into the park starting at 4pm.
I use this day as a rest/resort/DTD day, and make sure I'm at the gates as close to 4pm as possible.
Between 4pm and whenever we drop, we try and get our money's worth out of the party. Shorter lines on the attractions, great entertainment, and the Christmas version of Wishes is spectacular. Stuff your face on cookies and hot chocolate, and just generally enjoy ourselves.

I've typically thought it worth the price for our family using this method. On my next trip though, being a "as cheap as possible" surprise trip, I dont think I'll be splurging this year.

We enjoyed the Christmas Party, we live in FL and I loved the snow on Main Street. It was so magical! A lot of money yes, but its your honeymoon, do it! You have to do it at least once! We always go the 2d week of Dec. and it gets me in the Christmas mood!!

I guess I didnt really answer the original question though. What is special about MVMCP? Well, IMO, here are the things that make it a nice event:
Small crowds and short lines (I've never really stood in any lines)
Entertainment -- There are tons of shows and parades that are fun.
Parade/Wishes -- The Christmas parade is fun, and the special version of Wishes is fantastic.
Rare character M&G -- Depends on how much this interests you, I've never spent that time waiting in line for these M&G, but have been very tempted to do it for the 7 dwarfs.
The fun of being able to tour the MK with a lot of Xmas spirit -- That depends on how much it's worth to you, but I always love throwing on my Christmas Hawaiian shirt, a santa hat or knit hat, and getting a little extra jolly.

It's definitely worth it and I would love to do it again if I participate in the Disney college program. I went to it back in 2005 and they have a special castle stage show and the parade. They also have many rare characters out for meet and greets.

LOL, me either. Bad posters!

MVMCP - I like hearing the Christmas music playing. The parade is nice and cute. The fireworks are different and fun. I even like the ritual,of saying we should get cookies, having them tell me I don't like the cookies, getting one, anyway and then saying I don't like it. :) I enjoy seeing the character dressed in their Christmas finest. But I so miss the 'Twas the Night Before Christmas show and the Christmas Country Bears....it just isn't the same. Every year, I hope that 'Twas, at least, will come back.

MNSSHP - there just isn't any part of it that I don't like. Well, I'm not big on Trick or Treating, but even that isn't bad. The parade is, IMO, the best parade Disney has. I love the Headless Horseman...I even like his announcement and listening to "Flight of the Valkyries." The fireworks are fun. The Villain Mix n Mingle is really fun for me. We do so much that we go twice and stay busy both nights. :) I wish they'd do more decorating.

I like getting a pin for each event, too. :)

Always say I'm going to get a pick with the 7 Dwarfs...never have.
