I am going in July and I am staying at Coronado Springs. Where is it located, what is like, good/bad?
Any other info would be sweet.

I don't know about anyone else, especially from what i've seen in these forums, but I actually like Coronado! As far as the moderate resorts go, i think its the best (PO-French Quarter comes in close second). As for where its located? What do you mean? It's at Disney! I thought it was a bit quieter and they also have a huge food area and even room service (which i don't think the other moderates have). I've stayed there twice and have really enjoyed it and if i was staying at a moderate again, it would be my first choice! :slurp:

I absolutely love Coronado, I think it is the best of the moderates as well. It is definitiely spread out and the food court and swimming pools are darn good. I think the Mexican restaurant's food in the hotel is better than the San Angel Inn at EPCOT. I believe it is close to the Blizzard Beach area. Definitely worth it!

Cornado Springs is a nice resort in my point of veiw. It's about 3-4 minutes away from AK and almost right across the street from Blizzard Beach. Actually, the resort is about 4 minutes from MGM also. The food court they have there is awesome, Try the Wet Burritos they're awesome!:slurp: :sohappy: . The pool area is incredible also there's a giant myan temple that water runs down its pretty. My favorite part of the resort was the Cabanas. They are in almost perfect location, some being right in between the main building and the pool. All in all it's one of my favorites. :sohappy:

It's VERY close to MGM. You can hear Fantasmic! from the resort every night. The resort is VERY spread out, with the three themed sections set about a lake. This, of course, means you have to walk AROUND the lake to get around...although they did add a nice bridge that'll cut off part of that distance. They have a fabulously-themed pool that involves a 40 foot or so Mayan Temple with water running down its steps. My only complaint about this resort is its food court. They make you wait in a line to get in--even to fill up your souvenir mug, and a waiter/waitress sits you at a table and takes your plates away. You go up to stations, get your food, and they stamp what you got on a little sheet. After you eat, you pay...but they tack this tip on it that irritates me beyond belief. I would rather seat myself and throw my own trash away and not pay it, especially when you KNOW the waiters don't get the tips anyway...it goes right in the cash registers.

Never been there, but I would rather stay at French Quarter. I looked at the Pepper Market Prices and something about a food court that has 10 dollar meals doesn't seem right. That and the fact they charge gratuity. I also don't like the fact that the resort is so spread out. Everything is far apart from everything else. If you want to be near the Pool then you can't be near the main building. So you have to choose carefully.

On the other hand though...the theming and pool look incredible.

I haven't stayed there before, but I visited in 98, and it was gorgeous. I definitely plan on staying there sometime in the future.

I'm sure you'll love it.

I stayed there in the summer of 2000 with my girlfriend. I was not sure how my I would like it because as a kid I was spoiled by always staying Polynesian and Beach Club, a luxury that my girlfriend and I could not afford as students. But I loved it there. It was really big and looked beautiful. The pool was awesome and you are nice and close to MGM, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. I would reccomend requesting a room in the Cabanas section because you are close to the main pool and also the main building with the restaurants. Which brings me to my only complaint. I did not like the food there much at all. Not at the expensive restaurant and not at the cheap on. Try to eat somewhere else. We would always take the shuttle to boardwalk which is right next door and eat at Swan & Dolphin or Yacht & Beach. It was about the same price and much better.

Overall Coronado is great and I would defintely reccomend it.

Okay, maybe the Lone Ranger here, but I was not at all pleased with Coronado. Don't get me wrong it is a beautiful resort. However, if you're a Disney 'Magic' addict, you won't find it there. As mentioned, the Pepper Market (food court) is very wonky in it's serving and billing system, but worst of all the food and service were dreadful (do NOT get the taco salad!!). I absolutely LOVE San Angel, but the folks who run it just didn't get it right with Pepper Market too. Make other dinner plans. Sorry folks but the CM's there just weren't nice, and no one there smiled.
As for the rooms, they too are very nice, unfortunately the grounds have these little gasoline "golf cart" that truck guests and CM's from place to place at ALL TIMES of NIGHT!! We didn't sleep much our first night there because of the interstate running through the courtyard.
Go to Port Orleans Riverside and have a restful and magic vacation!

We stayed at Coronado Resort when it first opened, and got a section very close to the Mayan main pool. It was a long walk to the food court, which I didn't mind, but my hubby didn't care for the walk with his bum foot. I loved the water slide at the pool, and one morning we were the first ones at the pool for the day, and the life gaurd asked my daughter if she would like to help him turn on all the fountains, and the water coming down the pyramid, which she loved, and felt she was a big shot! :) I agree that the Mexican Restaurant is the best at WDW, but I also didn't care for mexican fast food morning, noon & night 24/7 that part got a little old. The rooms were great, and overall it was a super resort. My favorite moderate priced resort is still Caribbean!
