Anyone have anything on whats behind Fantasmic? Like how the performers get to the stage or basically whats behind there? I would love to know! Thanks!!

Well if you look on google earth or Windows Live Earth (Or whatever its called) you can get a pretty good idea. Basically its a small parking lot of sorts with facilities as well. There also is a bridge that spans across the moat in the back of the mountain so that performers and crew can get to the set, that I believe can also be raised or lowered depending on what needs to be done (for example moving Steamboat Willie back to its starting position). As far as my knowledge goes I'm pretty sure it is raised during the show. On the back side of the mountain there is a small marina where the watercraft are kept. I am sure there is much more back there as well probably consisted mostly of lifts and staircases, but seeing as how I've never been back there personally that is all I can tell you. Anyone know anything else?

With it being an ongoing show, I doubt there's a need for a lot of practice.

Though, they would need to do training for new Cast Members, wouldn't they?

As was posted earlier, there is indeed room to park cars for the cast and others on busy park days if need be, there are also break rooms and "green" rooms etc... to get ready for show. There are also docks for the steamboat, canoes, and barges for the show. New cast training is typically done at night after park hours.

Actually what you do is right behind the stage about 50 feet or so is a gate and beyond the gate is a building that is about 3 seconds. An office...and a dance/practice room. Costums are brought there and the performers get there that way.
Anyway, you go downstairs behind the stage and they have passage ways to get to where a character needs to go and pop out. like go down stairs and left hand side is a lift where they boost up Sorcer Mickey at the final part of the show. Then you keep on going down the path and to the right you see pipes along the wall and then on your right is a room where they controll the lifts/effects what have you

I actually had practices and rehersals there as a performer, that is how i know.
A few questions:
1) How fast does the mickey drop at the very end where he says, "Some imagination, huh?"
2)When the final Mickey disappears what is the CM connected to?
I may have more question based on your replies, or I may just think of more.

I'm not sure how fast Mickey drops down at the end of the show. Mickey is standing on a lift when he appears when the show starts & again at the end when he says "Some imagination,huh?" It is the same lift that raises the cauldren during the Evil Queen/Hag scene.
I worked in costuming at Fantasmic from Sept 2008-May 2009. On my first day of training, my trainer gave me a tour of island, explaing in where everything is & how most of it works. What she couldnt explain for how it worked, I figured out or asked the technicians about. Any other questions, I can try to answer them.
I just checked my video, it looks like he drops about 10ft in under 2sec, or around 6ft/sec. With that speed he wouldn't "Need" to be connected to anything. Elevators can go as fast as 59 ft/s

You'll also note that he doesn't move his feet at all. They could possibly be attached to the lift platform somehow.

If you're talking about the Friendships, they go to the Swan/Dolphin, Yacht/Beach, Boardwalk and then the International Gateway at Epcot. Then they turn around and do the same route in reverse.

on the boat is a staircase in the back of the steam wheel ship and the charaters walk down that. and theirs a bunker of sorts thats opens and the rest pop out off. if you watch closely you will see it.

Theres a video somewhere on youtube where the pyro infront of Mickey didnt go off so its very clear to see how fast he drops. Ill try have a look soon.
