Here's a picture of the Nautilus infront of Space Mountain at DLP. You'll have to go to the site and scroll down to the 33rd (Yes, I know it's a lot) picture.

I'm afraid that it's in a backstage area, and therefore not visible to guests (even on the Behind the Seeds Greenhouse tour).

Did you see it? If you did, even if you're a "backstage" guy or something like that, where is it?

The two rides I liked most in 1973 were 20K and "If you had wings".

If they ever decide to revive any nostalgic rides, I hope 20K is on their list.

Hey bigbird! Where are those pictures of deamons and dragons from? Just curious, I don't remember that from DLP!

Their version of BTMRR is MUCH better than WDW's (although I think I like WDW's better than DL's)

Are you talking about the animatronic dragon? Or the statues in the picture where you can see like all of paris from? And yes, their version of BTMRR is MUCH better than ours, even though I've never been to Paris, I hear really good things about it!

I only went on 20k leagues under the sea once. The seats kinda resembled toilet seats. Or at least that's what I thought when I was 7. lol

The dragon with the pack of smokes on its head, where is that? I am alsowondering where the picture of the demon (looks like the one from Fantasia) is from....just curious!

(The demon picture is right before the dragon picture)

I so miss "If You Had Wings" I would give anything for a time machine to take me back in time to relive the Magic Kingdom with Mr Toad, 20K, and If You Had Wings all running. Oh and throw in the great postshow Space Mountain had when RCA ran it.

I'd also take a time machine back to Epcot for when it had World of Motion and Horizons.

I rode both the WDW and DL (Submarine Voyage) versions once each. I *SO* believed that the submarine actually dove! They blew bubbles up the sides of the portholes (similar to the hydrolators at The Living Seas) to make you believe that you went beneath the surface. I don't know why I never noticed that the subs visible in the lagoon sailed with their top sides above water!

The ride was a true original, but I understand how difficult it must have been to maintain those underwater scenes. Better to kill the ride off than to let it deteriorate.

Yup, I see it every day as I go back and forth between the Land greenhouses and the backstage Epcot science facility (behind The Land). The submarine shell is right behind Soarin'. As you are sailing through the String and Creative greenhouses on the Living with the Land boat ride, it would be about 50 yards away to your right in a fenced-off lot along with a couple storage containers. However, this area is not visible to guests unless we happen to leave one of the backstage greenhouse doors wide open (which we try our best not to). The sub's nose is facing towards the greenhouses, so even then it wouldn't be particularly visible.

And, keeping with the "Did you know?" trend of this thread, did you know that the If You Had Wings theme song is woven into part of the current Tomorrowland background music loop, along with "Miracles From Molecules" and "Great Big, Beautiful Tomorrow?" (all the mention of If You Had Wings reminded me of this).
