Okay, sorry if this was posted before (most likely yes).

So i like to know, what you and the family do the day or night before you leave out on a Disney trip? Like go to your favorite restaurant or stay a night at a certain hotel? Do you drive straight in and head to parks?

Well, if you mean the night before we leave to come then this...
We usually finish off our trips with MK or Epcot. And typically we don't go too long at night since we usually get up and drive home early the next day.

If you mean the night before we leave to GO to Disney then this...
We usually go to sleep early so we can drive 21 hours, and sometimes top on a hotel on the way down.

We usually try to leave around midnight, so I pick up the rental car around noon or so. Then I try to get some sleep while my wife and kids finish their packing. Last September, I think I only got like 2 hours of sleep and we left at 10pm instead. We drive straight though, only stopping for food/gas/bathroom breaks.

if its the night before leaving and heading home I usually spend it weeping slightly in a corner.

if its the night before going to Disney it's only listening to a mix of park music/ classic Disney songs/ Bon Jovi. (all of which should be played in the parks) and usually that is going on as I am writing a recommendation to have Bon Jovi replace Aerosmith. it's a pretty good idea that gets presented quite often in the forums.

also I try to zonk myself out so I get some sleep. it never works however an I'm usually just lying in bed thinking abou what I will do first when I get there

You mean the night before we arrive at WDW, right? Here's my history...

If driving, we're in Kingsland, GA. I will visit at LEAST three drive-thru windows to get everyone their favorites. We have dinner and our traditional Dairy Queen. Kids swim. We all go to bed early, because we are getting up around 4:00 - 4:30 to shower and stuff. We then drive straight to a park for rope drop. Woo-Hoo!!

If flying, I'll be packing the night before and calling my sister, asking where she is, why isn't she here, she was supposed to come sleep at my house so she wouldn't oversleep and cause us all to miss the plane. But she can't come, because even though I told her 10,000 times in the previous three weeks (and she said, "Oh, my GOD! Will you STOP?! I'm going to do it!"), she didn't get caught up on her laundry and is still washing. Finally, I'll remind her to be ready by 7:00, because I don't want to wait for her to take the hell dog out or whatnot. She will promise to have herself, the boys and the luggage outside by 7:00.

Then I will set my alarm so I can be at her house by 6:00, because I know she will oversleep if I don't go wake her up.

Before we leave we go over all our travel details. When flying, recheck to make sure all travel info is up to date, nothings been changed. ID's are with us. Check to make sure the bags contain everything on our packing lists. Money, gift cards, all Disney packet is ready to go. Car is gassed up and ready to pull out in the morning. Meal is usually something light because we don't want to eat a lot. Make last minute calls to friends or relatives. Set multiple alarms to be sure we're up on time. Get to bed early but never really sleep well because of the anxiety that in a few hours we will be at Disney.

we live 2.5 hours from the parks, so it's often an earlier in the week decision that we are going. last week i got up to take my daughter to school and decided a spur of the moment disney trip was necessary so off we went! i hate living in FL, but being this close to Disney makes it totally bearable. For our longer trips, i like to make sure i've got all my dining rez's tee'd up. i'll be up the night before changing them.

Majority of my Trips I have gone to the Museum of Science & Industry out here in Chicago..To me the Museum has an Epcot-ish vibe for me and after which I go to a Restaurant called RAM Brewery and Order their Biggest burger so I cut in half and save the other portion for the morning I wake up (Which is around 3am).

But, my last trip I changed it up a notch...While I didn't go to the Museum..Disney came to me...In Ice Skating form...Yep Disney on Ice was here the weekend I was leaving so I went and saw the show and then went to have my dinner..So far That was the funnest one to do and I wouldn't mind to do this again..

I am always crazy nervous before any trip. No real reason for it and there isn't a darn thing I can do about it. I make sure I have everything taken care of early in the day....boarding passes printed early in the morning, cat dropped off at the boarder, grand-dog taken to grandma and I'm all packed and ready. I try get to bed early but between my DH being the ultimate procrastinator, packing until after midnight, and my nerves, I'm lucky to get to sleep before 3:00 am for a 7:20 am flight. Ugh!

The last thing we do is pack! We do mainly weekend trips so we have gotten into quite a good routine of packing quickly. Last weekend we packed the morning of and left within an hour or so.

That's us. We live about 3.5 hours so we go a few times a year for long weekend, when the kids have a day off from school or something. The wife will go out and get the travel size tooth paste and stuff like that in the afternoon and we'll pack in the evening and load the car at night. (I have this thing where I am afraid in the daytime someone will see me pack and know the house is empty). We'll leave after work/school.

We used to do that too. However, getting up that early, the 3.5 hour drive and the adrenaline when we arrive of being in Disney, we were exhausted by about 3 in the afternoon. We'll just drive the day before after work/school, check in, get something to eat and maybe walk around DTD before calling it a night. That way we'll be up bright and early with enough energy to go for the whole day. We do go at a fast clip since our trips are mainly weekend trips. We'll do two parks in a day. We'll skip a few things that we don't care for, but we'll do a lot at each park.
