What would you un-do?

Over the years, many changes have taken place in Walt Disney World: adding attractions, removing attractions, renovating attractions, adding resorts, adding parks, renovating lands or areas, etc, etc, etc.... What changes would you un-do if you had the chance?

I'd return the original Journey into Your Imagination attraction, I'd have not opened Animal Kingdom until it had at least a handful of e-ticket attractions, I would have kept Horizons and World of Motion and found another way to include Mission Space. If I think of anything else, I'll add it later.

I would undo...

World of Motion to Test Track: When budget was higher, design a thrill ride addition to a motion pavilion. Refurbish the World of Motion ride-through with new speed rooms, feature more in the future of the motion promise, and possibly add new narration. Add a small flight exhibit, ala Take Flight!, and a fresher, futuristic TransCenter. All of these can also be handy in wait for Test Track.

Enchanted Tiki Room: Add new host animatronics with new technological features. Replace some jokes in the opening with more "modern" ones, and shorten several sections. Cut Iago and Zazu and "modern intrusions", and keep it more in the "Walt style". Possibly add Donald Duck and other characters in a small "Birds around the World" segment; and add Uh-Oha to sing new verses added in the Hawaiian War Chant.

Journey into Imagination: Cut, or lessen, the Institute Theme and create a just-as-long and more imaginative attraction in the huge amount of space, tickling the senses with the latest breathtaking technology. Keep the ImageWorks upstairs and refresh with less "Innoventions" and computer gadgets, and update the dazzling exhibits.

Kitchen Kabaret: Update the Kitchen and feature wider ranges of original music. If Food Rocks! has to replace it, at least use 3-D Animatronics.

Horizons to Mission Space: ?? Unknown ?? (Cross your fingers.)

*Additionally, keep the existing COP, CBJ, IASW, Dumbo, HM, POTC, HM, MSEP, SM, JC, Living w/Land, SE, and AA in original forms (or for the Future World Pavilions, updates) somewhere in a US Disney Park - What's Paris without the Eiffel Tower?? *

I like many of the ideas posted above, and here I will add a few.

Change Dinosaur back to Countdown to Extinction!

Bring back Captain EO (Hey, I know Michael Jackson is kinda different now, but this was done at the highlight of his career.)

Bring back WOM and build Test Track behind it in a new building. Same for Horizons, build Mission Space in a different location.


BRING BACK "If you had wings" Yes, that was there way before Dreamflight and was much better.

My biggest one would be to bring back the old summer hours. I can remember when the summer hours used to be like this every weekend after the Disney Studios opened:

MK - 9 AM - 12 Midnight
EPCOT - 9 AM - 11 PM
MGM - 9 AM - 10:30 PM

and when AK opened it was 7 AM - 8 PM. I used to go there at 7 AM and finish the whole park by 11.:animwink:

I'd also do MVMCP like they did in the early-mid '90's...very limited tickets and REAL sugar cookies - not the cheap icky ones they have now.

If I have control of all things anywhere near Disney, I'd bring the fried chicken back to the HOB - D*** that was some tasty chicken!:slurp:

I'm sure I'll think of other things too - those were just the first that came to mind!

i would:
-Bring back the original Journey Into Imagination
-Bring back the rectangular pizzas at the pizza and pasta place in Future World
-return Adventureland to its original self
-re-hire Nova Era to play in Italy
-Bring back Tapestry of Nations

Lots of great ideas so far... here's another:

Bring back 'Future Corps' in EPCOT. They used to play near one of the Communicores (now Innoventions) in Future World.
They were a small drum corps consisting of several soprano bugules, some mellophones, baritiones, a tuba and percussion.
They rocked!

If anyone has any information as to why they are no longer employed there, please let me know! Thanks!

I'd definately re-install 20k, as far as i know THE RIDE IS STILL THERE..LOL The subs are still stored on the property...

Horizons, as i've said before i understand about the building being unsafe due to the foundation under it, well ok.. here's a real hard thought.. MOVE THE BUILDING!!! duh!!!!

World of Motion, they could have easily left it there and built Test Track in a different spot as Future World is sorta spaced out.

Tapestry of Nations.. that just rocked.. the current version looks like they needed something new.. didn't want to spend money for new props, so reshuffle everyone, change the music.. and TA=DA.. we have a crappy remake of a great parade...

Mr. Toad was simply a cool ride

One last one.. Dinosaur, yep bring back the ORIGINAL... i've heard some say it was too scary for all members of the family.. well couldn't the same be said of Tower of Terror??? :lol:

My first would be to have left Mr. Toad alone, and maybe built pooh somewhere else.

I also would have left WOM and Horizons, and built test track and mission space someplace else, provided there is space for that.

I would have also left journey into imagination the same as it always was. That should have never been touched.
