Dave, I guess Taylor Ham is a north Jersey thing...that's what I always called it, down here in Ocean County, it's pork roll...

Yep, it is one of the great divides of New Jersey. If it is Port Roll or Taylor Ham.

One other funny thing, I have always considered "shore pizza" sub-par. There is so much other, better, food at the shore. The pizza in northern NJ is better, I have had some bad pizza at shore places. Hot Dogs too - at least rippers, Italian hot dogs, and Texas Wieners (which were invented in NJ, and really have nothing to do with Texas). But crab (in all styles), clams, fried fish, "regular" hot dogs, frozen custard, and salt water taffy you have a lock on.

I agree with most of what you said...I grew up in Essex county, so I'm a "transplanted" northerner, but since I've been down here for 25 years now, I don't consider myself a benny. There is some very good pizza down here...sometimes it's not on the boardwalk

In your plea to not discuss pizza, I think you devoted more words to discussing pizza than were previously typed into this thread. FWIW.
Well good I am glad I "devoted more words" to discussing this subject than previously typed prior to my comment. I'm sure I am not alone with being annoyed by having to see this argument come up in any/every thread that talks about pizza.

I disagree with this (I agree with the sentiment of the post however). Water filtration has become quite cheap. It is also pretty cheap to get the correct additives needed to match water profiles.

I used to do it with home brewing all of the time. Many beers are dependent on a specific water profile. You can adjust various components in the water to match that profile. WDW (or Flordia) for that matter could have good pizza dough and good bagels if they wanted. I think they just don't see a market in doing so.

So I stand corrected! It turns out the Via Napoli ships in their water to make their pizza as close to its origins so I guess it is possible to bring in water from other places.

Something where kids can be seated at a table with other kids and parents at nearby table. Having only one I can tell you the thing DD9 misses is talking with other kids if we have TS. While at the resort she actually tries to make plans to meet up with other kids. 🙄 Nothing funnier than watching 2 little girls running back and forth to moms asking where they will be such and such days though.

The biggest "hole" in Disney's culinary line-up, for me, is Indian food -- one of my family's favorites. While I know there are a few Indian-inspired dishes at Sanaa and on a few menus elsewhere, I wish there was a dedicated Indian TS restaurant (preferably with a good buffet) in one of the parks (or at least in a more convenient-to-get-to location than AKL), with the option to order dishes so spicy they'd melt my Mickey ears. :)

Maybe have something like Sunshine Seasons but in World Showcase and have different stations for different ethnic food choices not already represented in the existing countries?

That would be awesome -- so long as they didn't "dumb down" and Americanize anything. :)

That's one of my pet peeves. Everything is made more mainstream. I will agree with you on the Indian food, even though I doubt I would ever eat there. Indian food is something that in general does not appeal to me. There are a few dishes that I like, but for the most part I don't enjoy it. It's not the heat either (melt your ears off is find by me, I had an awesome calamari fra diavolo last wekend - it caught me by surprise as most places don't make it all that hot - I had to drink a half a glass of water to stop coughing after I inhaled some if it by accident) Anyway, maybe it is the fenugreek that is in a lot of Indian dishes. There is something about Indian food in general that has an off putting taste for me - and I have eaten a lot of Indian food.

But yes, they need a lot more authentic food, even if it does not appeal to everybody,.

From what I've read, they don't actually ship the water from Italy. They found a local source that was basically the same quality as what they had in Italy, and they use that to make their pizza.

That would make sense. If they find something local, that is close but just missing a few things, they can be added.

It is much harder to remove things that are in there that you don't want.
