What would you do with 14 days in Orlando?

We are working on our timeline for while we are on vacation. We are going to be there for 14 days. Getting there late on Friday June 11 and leaving on Friday June 25. We have a 7 day hopper pass plus to Disney World and we would like to visit the beach a few days possibly. We also have tickets for Sea World and have no desire to go to Universal Studios. Any reccomendations as to what to do?

There are lots of things you can do on WDW property w/out using your hopper pass. You could visit some of the resorts, eat at their restaurants, go shopping at DTD, go to DisneyQuest (extra $$), see a movie, play miniature golf, rent water mice, go horseback riding at FTW, spend the day swimming/exploring/relaxing at your resort. -Stephanie

Day1- universal Studios
Day2- IOA
Day3- disney resort pool/ waterpark
Day4- Downtown disney/ waterpark
Day5&6- Epcot
Day7&8- Disney Studios
Day8&9- MK
Day10- AK
Day11- Resort hopping/ shopping
Day11- MK
Day12- relax at resort
Day13- Epcot/ Disney studios/ AK hopping
Day14- hit anything missed

I'd also hit PI several of those nights, on the days I relax. ;)

I'm sure there's more stuff to do but I don't know everything in orlando. I'd DEFINATELY eat well at many different places, and return with the best tan ever. :)

You should change to either a length of stay pass or upgrade to an AP if you are a big disney fan. If not I would do everything else first then spend the end of your trip doing disney.

wow.. 14 days.

I'm accustomed to British and Irish guests spending 14 days.

Not Americans from Kansas.

You are the first.

Congrats.

Bet you're feeling special.

Especially Special.

alright... enough beer for Rob.

seriously.. have fun, you're there for 2 weeks.. TAKE IT EASY WHILE YOU'RE THERE... (I can't reiterate that enough!!!)

While on a 4 day vacation you may spend 9-10 hours in a park, you're on a 14 day one. Try not to spend more than 7-8 LEISURELY hours in each park per day... if that much. Be laid back, and try to enjoy it. Take in the little details and the atmosphere.

so... I bet you're feeling special...

Personally, I could spend all 14 days on Disney property, but if you want to see other things, here's how I would break it down.

1 day at Universal Studios
1 day at Islands Of Adventure
1 day at Sea World
1 day at Blizzard Beach
1 day at Typhoon Lagoon

That leaves 9 days for the Disney Theme Parks

3 days at Magic Kingdom
3 days at Epcot
2 days at MGM
1 day at Animal Kingdom

Obviously, you don't really NEED 3 whole days at the Magic Kingdom or Epcot, but it would give you the chance to see all the details and do the best things a few times over.

How can ANYONE ever get sick of the Magic Kingdom?

Depending on how many days you want to visit a Disney park, I would see if getting an AP or Length of Stay Pass would be cheaper.

But one thing I would definitely do would be to spread it out so there would be some break days where I could sleep in and just go browse Downtown Disney in the afternoon or visit a water park. My past vacations have always been a rushed experience because I would try to see as much as I could in the few days I'm there.

When is the last time you have been there? You may want to re consider universal, It really is a fantastic park and with attractions like spiderman, mummy and shreck 4d its totally worth the ticket price. with the amount of days you have its probably the best place for you to go, other than wdw i mean

14 days for me? Here's my schedule:

Day #1: After landing, take a nap and head over to DTD.
Day #2: Sea World - Much easier to go through. After about a day at Sea World I would make reservations for dinner somewhere nice.
Day #3: Universal Studios: Over the last years Universal has improved alot and is now a quality theme park. I think a day over there wouldn't hurt.
Day #4: Islands of Adventure: A great park and is worth a visit just to see Universal has managed to rival Disney pretty well theming wise.
Day# 5: Take a day off, you've already seen 3 parks! Maybe hop around between the resorts.
Day# 6: Head over to one of the water parks. Both are great and I think it is a good idea to hop around between the two.
Day# 7: The beach- You're already in the mood for water so why not?
Day # 8: Disney's Animal Kingdom - Running around here isn't neccessary so take your time and get used to the pace of WDW.
Day# 9: Disney MGM Studios - A great park and can be seen easily in a day and a half. Take your time and enjoy the fun attractions MGM has to offer.
Day# 10: Epcot- You're already used to strolling around so Epcot shoudn't be that difficult to experience. Be sure to stick around for IllumiNations: RoE and eat a nice dinner at World Showcase.
Day #11: Saving the best for last: The Magic Kingdom. You'll have plenty to do over here so just go with the flow.... Be sure to catch Wishes and SpectroMagic.
Day #12-13: Missed an attraction? Now's the time to hop around for some catching up. Remember, don't rush yourself. Take your time and enjoy your VACATION.
Day# 14: Say goodbye, you're goin' home! :(

Hope I was helpful! Have a great trip! :king:

Last time I spent a week down there we did Kennedy Space Center. It was very interesting and surprisingly, not crowded.
I found everything to be a blast (but I'm a geek so that's to be expected) while my non-tech saavy wife decided to sleep during the IMAX films (she never understood the whole space race deal and it didn't interest her much).

Also, take a look at going to Gator Land. Not too far away off the Osceola Pkwy and Orange Blossom Trail (OBT) - (hang left when you get to OBT and it will be on your right side).

There are also lots of tourist trap things to do on International Dr. (I-Drive) such as wonderworks, Ripley's and FAO Schwartz (it's still open right?)

14 days, I'm jealous...I have to break up my 14 days over 2 trips.

14 days? Well, I'd plan it for February, for starters. Just my thing....I'd do 4 days at the parks, followed by a 4 day cruise. Then, I'd come back to WDW, and attend the Daytona 500, to boot.

Wait, I've already done that. Guess I'll have to come up with something better. :hammer:

I would stay at the Contemporary for 7 nights, and probably the Beach Club for the other 7. I would take my time, probably allocate 10 days to the parks, 3 days for the resorts, and another day for DTD - shopping, mostly.

It would be so leisurely, I don't know how I'd ever want to leave. Of course, I always feel that way (never want to leave). :)

The last time I was at Universal was probably 98. However we are not big ride people. For the most part we hate rollar coasters. I know we are not normal. I will post what I came up with tonight when I get home from work. I think we are going to have a nice relaxing time and I just cant wait to be there!

This is what I did on my 2 week trip to Disney last summer. It seemed to work out well. My other two 2-week trips were pretty much a variation of this, depending on which parks were open at the time.

Day #1 - (arrival) :D
Day #2 - Sea World
Day #3 - Animal Kingdom / Magic Kingdom
Day #4 - Universal Studios
Day #5 - Epcot
Day #6 - Typhoon Lagoon / visited family
Day #7 - (changed hotels / relax)
Day #8 - MGM
Day #9 - Islands of Adventure
Day #10 - Marketplace
Day #11 - Epcot
Day #12 - Typhoon Lagoon
Day #13 - Magic Kingdom
Day #14 - (leave)

First off, I'm so jealous you get to spend that much time down there!! If I ever get that much time to spend at WDW, I'd really like to explore every nook and cranny and do a lot of things that aren't considered major must-do attractions. Like parasailing, renting the small water boats, really walking and exploring the property, and checking out the different resorts. While in Orlando, I'd also go back to Universal, IOA, Sea World too.

Well it's a shame you guys have no desire to go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. You will really be missing out on going to another great theme park that is just down the road from the Mouse House. It does have attracions and rides that cater to a wide audience, not just the thrill seekers.
