Question: Why do we think there's a Snow White's M&G (I just assumed she'd be included in the Princess M&G going in the SWSA spot)?

I guess with TDO loving M&Gs, we have become conditioned to think a M&G will be built along with any new attraction.. LOL...

Also, i think some people secretly hope the Dwarf cottage is included in the new ride and that is where the 7 dwarves do a M&G.. I dunno, just speculating on some people's possible feelings...

I think that would be a nice idea, and having Snow White with the dwarves in the cottage, well that'd be even better. I just really like the idea of the Princesses being split up, rather than all lumped together into an Expo Hall.

Maybe I just dont like lines (ok, this is not a maybe, I hate lines), but I like my M&Gs the way they have them in Epcot, when you can get in one line and just pop on through the cast of characters in one shot. I'm sure with my kid only going to get more into M&Gs as she gets older (we'll see in 5 days!), I personally would prefer to get them all done in one shot than have to head all over and wait in multiple lines. If we're not going to get the immersive M&G that we were in the original FLE (yes, as a father, I would have loved to see my girls faces being able to color with Aurora, as so many folks have bashed), then I'd prefer to just get them all done at once...

Just my opinion though. If I could get Snow White, and all 7 dwarfs, and have it done in a fully themed Dwarf's cottage, I might change my tune though...

I agree. But I don't think all 7 dwarfs will be out. I think they will keep them limted to hard ticket events only.

You are sooo right. I never thought i would do a M&G in my life, but boy was I wrong. I always though I would have kids, but it never registered. Went last Feb when our DD was 1 1/2. I nevere knew that this would be the highlight. Epcot, knock it all out was great! Can't say enough. I can also tell you we had never tracked into Camp MM and did for our DD. WOW! Nothing there, but a show and trails(nice name for lines) but in Feb there were none. Ended up loving AK and the area for it's peacefullniss. MK and the M&G's just stunk to put it nice.

Have to agree! I have a 3yrold, and when we went in OCT this year, all she wanted to do was see the characters. Yes she enjoyed the rides she could go on, but she was more excited to see Mickey and his friends. We spent more time waiting in line for M&G than rides. So we did a lot of kid swapping. One goes on a ride the other waits in line for a character...Or Im waiting in line for this charater and my husband in other line... So the Epcot "one shot" was a great time saver!! But I'm on the fence.
I enjoy the one shots but am still looking forward to the expansion. It will be beautiful!
I would love to see more of the dwarves. One thing I was bummed about when we went to MNSSHP, they had the dwarves there, but the line was WAY too long. We would have missed all the other characters & events.

The idea of M&Gs as stand alone attractions was a bad idea. But a Dwarfs Cottage (serving as a Dwarves and SW meet and greet venue) built alongside a new SW mine car ride is the CORRECT approach.

Does anyone know what is being built on the other side of the tracks from the train station at Toontown. On Google Earth with an image date of May 2010 shows a fresh clearing there. What has me suspicious is it is not simply a square clearing but it has sweeping lines to boundaries. There is also a large tree or two left in the middle. If it is for a maintenance or utility expansion I wonder why it has these aesthetic features.

It's a retention pond. :)

I know there is a retention pond on the north side of the clearing which has been there for a long time. So I guess they were expanding that pond in May 2010? I was wondering why they were leaving a tree in the middle with that area not seen by most guests.
It would be a great place for Mickey and Minnie's houses. They could have their own little neighborhood. The train stops at the station before it crosses there anyway. There is plenty of time to drop a barricade and let people through between train passes. I'm also looking for at least a good attempt by the Imagineers keeping those houses at MK. The MK is the Capital of WDW and Mickey is the Boss so that's where he should reside. A retention pond is a let down.

Most people aren't even sure why they were expanding the retention pond to begin with.

I've heard this be explained numerous times before (and much better than I will) but it has somethig to do with permeable surfaces. With new pavement and buildings replacing grassy fields and a retention pond, you're looking at a large amount of permeable surface being covered by impermeable surfaces, and all of that rain run off has to go somewhere. There is a large amount of documents relating to the drainage calculations online, with some plans dating as far back as 2004.
