Yes, honestly with them owning the Indiana Jones rights, wouldn't an Indy Treasue and Escape island make for a cool attraction?
With the popularity of escape rooms they may want to revisit the Myst idea.
I Indy escape room would be cool.
Also I think Myst would have been fun. Sounds fun, I wish Disney properly joined the gaming industry again (not Disney Infinity but instead amazing games as EA is not trustable with Star Wars already

Wasn't there some kind of pirate cruise that involved Discovery Island? Unless my memory is playing tricks on me, I seem to recall that it wasn't particularly well-attended. That would seem to seal the fate for any chance of re-development.

A notorious urbexer recently explored and documented the island. The structures are all still there, in serious ruin. I won't post it here since it is frowned upon but you can see it by searching "Discovery Island Abandoned" on YouTube.

Yeah,
It was just left there forgotten and I wonder if they have plans or at least removing the buildings and turning it into a bird sanctuary, a better and safer one.

The island was called Treasure Island in its early years and was pirate themed before it was renamed Discovery Island in 1978. The wreaked ship is still there however mostly covered by nature

I do a lot of armchair imagineering and speculation
Wouldn't armchair imagineering include all the aspects of the imagineers' job? What makes people like Joe Rodhe remarkable is how they can weave together the creative (capturing the imagination of guests), the engineering (the structural and physical realities), and the business (designing it such that it is profitable).

I mainly do the side of armchair imagineering were I write down and draw the ideas and the first proper one I am doing is for Epcot “Evolution” which I might have ready in a day or two.
