What was this at EPCOT?

I would say Luminous is an attempt to try to have a similar feeling and emotional connection to ROE while still being saddled by the IP mandate. It is FAR better than Harmonious, but it does not get anywhere near the standard achieved by Reflections of Earth.
Harmonious thinks its Luminous, Luminous thinks it Illuminations, Epcot Forever is sitting on the bench waiting for coach to put him back in the game

Eh…. This is where you start to lose me. I loved Illuminations very much - but Luminous is a good show.

I miss Wishes more than I miss Illuminations.
You know what…on second thought…

It’s just not good.

It’s not that they didn’t need to replace ILL 2.0…they surely did…
But nothing since has half the appeal of even the rusty spinning globe. They just haven’t delivered.

It’s the IP…they just don’t need to lean into it there. Makes no sense.

I’d rather a more abstract concept there and bring back sorcery in the sky down the lagoon…which is where IP world actually makes sense

I strongly disagree, ROE was timeless and should have remained that way. That being said I would not want them to bring it back exactly as it was at this point since it is water under the bridge now. It would have to be a very good spiritual successor with no IP to tempt me to return to EPCOT and WDW.

That's kinda the problem it wasn't timeless. Thematically yes it was and beautifully so but technologically? Absolutely not. It could not have ran another 10 years without some sort of upgrade
