My first ride was, I think, the Pirates of the Caribbean. I remember because I was really embarrassed. When we got to the part when the Pirates are auctioning off the women and are yelling "We want the red head!" - my dad decided to join in since my mom has bright red hair. My mom thought it was funny but I was a mortified (I was a teenager, after all...).

Every trip I go with my parents, we go on that ride and my dad STILL does it with my mom giggling. When I go without them, it's just not the same. :p

Wow, that was 23 years ago and only the Magic Kingdom existed then!! I went with my junior high band, my first big trip away from home. We entered through the back gate by the Pirates (not through the front entrance), and I believe we went straight for the Pirates of the Carribean. Boy how things have changed in 23 years. I remember driving through orange groves to get to the back of the Magic Kingdom. We were let loose in the parks in the morning, then had to return to the back lot to change into band uniforms for the parade and then we changed back after and where let loose until the park closed!! Boy that brings back fond memories of the "good ole days". Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!:) :) :)

I don't remember what we went on first...it was 1975. I remember Cinderella Castle, being too little for space mountain, and the ghost in the car with us in HM.

Mickeyfan, my high school band students report a similar experience for their trip playing at WDW two years ago. :)

scottjanwilson, my first visit required the tickets also. As a matter of fact, I still have a couple of books, but missing the "E" tickets!! Remeber having to go to the booths to purchase them just like at a carnival or fair!! Boy I am showing my age!!

one of my ear-liest memories was in the haunted mansion - after the ghost host snickered "we have 999 happy haunts here, but there's room for 1,000... any vonlunteers???"

my father turned to me and asked if i wanted to vonlunteer... i thought he was serious - and i was so excited at the chance to live in the haunted mansion...

i always think of that when i hear that line in the HM...

ah, memories...

(only 32 days until i hear it again)
