I know that I know her best, more then any of you all but if you can throw some ideas out here for me that would be great!

So I know women make men go broke but she is really making me broke lol. Our 3 year anniversary is Nov 29 (we leave for wdw this day), her graduation is Dec 10, and of course x-mas is the 25th.

I'm not worried about anniversary or x-mas because their will be more of those but after 17 years in school, college graduation is it, its a one time thing.

I'm thinking something engraved with the nursing symbol on it (shes gonna be a RN). Any thoughts or ideas will be appreciated.

Not sure if she is into the Disney Dooney and Bourke but what about letting her pick a purse on your trip (on you) so she has something she can use for a long time to come. I would love this idea....:D

Perhaps an official graduation ring or pendant?
Her parents are getting her a really nice pendant already.

This is an idea, I could get it personalized to. Where do they sell these?

Engraved iPad or iPod Touch
I was thinking an iPad until we were looking at them because I want one and she made the comment that she doesn't think she would use it. So that's out too lol.
An engagement ring? ;)
I would love to and do plan on it shortly but I've already talked to her parents about it and they don't "mind" me (lol) but they want her to finish college and get settled in with a new job first so planning a wedding won't be distracting her. I kinda agree.

I bought her a watch last year that she really likes and she already has some special stethoscope that she picked out and bought.

All of these are GREAT ideas and I have a problem with most of them, can you all feel my pain yet lol??

An eReader isn't a bad idea. It's amazing what content you can get for those.

But I think you could really split it down into categories - jewelry, clothing, gadgets. For a gift of this type, especially if we're talking something that won't break the bank, what else is there?

My daughters (one that age, two closing in on it) think that, unless you're really serious, jewelry should be off the table. It's always nice, but unless you're going to buy something decent, getting an inexpensive piece of jewelry isn't a big thing in most cases.

Clothing - not really a celebratory gift from a boyfriend. HOWEVER. Sub-category of Accessories - they all agreed that a nice high-quality handbag or messenger bag would be good. Maybe with a Kindle inside it?

Gadgets. I'll bet you dollars to donuts she would use an iPad. Unless she spends zero time on a PC/laptop? For what she is probably doing with a PC, an iPad probably could be a good idea. But if she is wary, best to wait until she becomes used to it. That being said, thinking that you want this to be personal, what about a new camera. Good ones can be had for <$1K.

Also not to be laughed at - really good pens/pencil sets. Not the cheap Cross crap but something good. Maybe put it in the new handbag?
