What to do with our stuff....

We get in to MCO at 9am and taking the DME to BLT. I assume we can leave our carry ons with bell services (letting DME take our luggage) but what about our laptops? Not worried about them getting stolen, worried about them getting damaged. We're probably going to head to DTD, are there lockers somewhere? We aren't going to the parks.

You can leave the laptop with bell services. Let them know what Otis and they lock it up. No worries about theft or damages. I've done it before usually on our last day to store it after check out but before we get on the DME back to Orlando airport.

While you need to prepare for your room not being ready, definitely make sure your arrival time is reflected on your reservation. It will boost the odds of your room being ready at check in time. i.e. you could just put the laptops in your room if it's ready at the time. We once checked in at 7am at WDW and our room was ready...so it is a possibility that it could work out like this. I do try to pad my laptop in my bag as well just to help reduce the odds of damage since I've had to leave it with bell services on the tail end of our trip...i.e. lots of time to burn after checkout. Still, never had a problem with leaving it at bell services.

Unless they are absolutely necessary for something that has to be done for work, my wife leaves hers at home. I don't even consider bringing a computer or smartphone to my escape from those kind of things. I do understand it is a necessity for some. For me it seems sad when I see kids, or adults for that matter, playing games or doing other time wasters on a laptop or ipad while at WDW. So many other things to do, so little time.

Make sure they know which bag has the laptop and ask them to put it in "the cage". It's a more-secure area of the baggage room where things like laptops can get placed without them possibly being stacked with other suitcases.

At Downtown Disney there *were* rental lockers by the Marketplace marina, but I presume they are gone since they were intended to store things while you were out with a rental boat.
