What to do other than parks?

We have been to WDW many times but usually go in November, December or January. We are planning our first Summer trip and want to do something different. We usually go commando at the parks and run from attraction to attraction and park to park. This trip we want do visit the parks but also experience other activities that Disney has to offer. We are planning to do both water parks and will visit each park at least one day. That leaves four more days to fill. What do we do?

We visited the World last July and on one of our "free" days we went parasailing over at Seven Seas Lagoon (behind the Contemporary) and it was an awesome experience.

You can also go resort hopping or shopping/dining at the boardwalk and/or Downtown Disney.

Have fun!!!

Personal favorite of ours (although most of these have been mentioned already): check out some of the other resorts by having lunch/dinner at the restaurants - walk around the Boardwalk (very pretty in the evening) - shop at Downtown Disney - got to Cirque du Soleil - catch a show at House of Blues. Sometimes Downtown Disney has free evening entertainment - check it out!

If you're willing to go off-property, of course, there are additional choices. How about a trip to the beach? It's not far to drive, and is lots of fun.

Have a great trip!

First off during the summer, do NOT comando style the parks, you will kill your self. Second, because of the heat, do the water parks. In the evening go to PI and hit the AC, at around 7pm, sit down and enjoy. You could always go to the Boardwalk and walk around in the evening as well. There's so much to do and see.

I always spend time in Downtown Disney. For me its always relaxing. I also like to rent boats at the WL and drive around and just watch the boats go in and out of the Magic Kingdom.

I have rented bikes and thats fun. I also like to hang by the pool and have a drink.
