What to do for an hour?

I was wondering if anyone could give me ideas as to what my 9 year old son and I can do for an hour while my daughter is at the Wonderland Tea Party on July 3rd and also what my 8 year old daughter and I can do for 2 hours while my son is on the Pirate Adventure Cruise on July 8th. I just haven't been to Disney in so many years I wasn't sure what might be good. We are staying on Disney property but not staying at the GF so I don't think we can use the boats. Thanks!

My goodness, with the crowds that will be there for the fourth, it's really more of a question "what won't take an hour".

I'm pretty sure that if you are staying on property that you can use the boats.

You could also ask at your resort for ideas on some quick diversions.

if you kids havent been to all of the monorail resorts (GF, contemp, poly) maybe go around to a couple of them and walk around and shop at them. its also sometiems nice to take a monorail ride.

I'd hit the monorail resorts like others have said, or rent one of the mouse boats. They look like a lot of fun.

It's going to be hot, and probably will rain in the afternoon, so plan for that to take place.

You can go get ice cream at the Yacht Club. Or... Play mini golf!

Thanks so much for the ideas, all of them sound good and my children haven't been to Disney before so I know any of these they would like. :)

You can use all the transportation reguardless of which resort you are staying at.

To kill 1 Hour, Ride the Monorail all the way around the lagoon on the resort line, it takes about 45-60 minutes, depending on the stops made.

For the 2 hour pirate adventure, your daughter may enjoy a boat ride to the Poly, or even Wilderness Lodge (via Magic Kingdom Transfer). Both have nice diversions, which although are not princess meet-and-greets, they are enjoyable for the 2 of you. She might also enjoy a monorail trip, but to make up for the time, get off at the TTC and go round trip to/from Epcot. And then back to the resort line at the TTC. That would take about 1.5-2 hours, depending on stops and other factors, such as your timing at the stations. (sometimes at the TTC to Epcot station, if you just missed a train you might end up waiting up to 10-15 minutes.)

ENJOY YOUR TRIP!

I was going to ask the same question, but what my DH and I could do at the GF while DD is doing the wonderland tea party. Is there a good place for lunch anywhere around there?

The Grand Floridian Cafe is great for lunch, I would highly recommend it. It should also not be too crowded or noisy since everyone will be in the parks.

You do not have to be staying at Cont, Poly, or GF to use the boats. We always stay at POR or now at SS. And we rent the boats at least 1 time each trip.

Book a massage at the spa!!!! Its great!!!

Take your daugther to story time with the princesses and your son to ESPN to play some games :)
