:DSo my husband got his acceptance letter today, YAY!! (Hopefully mine will come soon, hehe):D

So I just wanted to know what we should bring with us? We will be living together in one of the furnished apartments there but im not 100% sure on what is included in "fully furnished". I'm curious also do they supply the things like a microwave, a vacuum cleaner and other household items such as those?

So any info on what to bring or what not to bring would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance.

What fully furnished apartment? A DCP one or some other complex?

Bring a winter coat. You may think that you won't need one in florida but I'm glad I had mine at the end of my CP when it was the coldest it had been in 5 years.

The DCP apartments have a microwave, fridge, dishwasher, oven, & stove. There isn't a vacum(but you can borrow one from the clubhouse), tv, lamps, and other decorating stuff. In the living room there is a couch, chair, coffee table, and 2 end tables. In the bedroom there are 2 twins, 2 nightstands and 1 dresser. I would recomend lamps so you don't have to always use the harsh overhead lights. I had one for my bedroom and wish I had one for the living room.

If your bringing your computer, if its a laptop bring a wireless router makes its easier to walk around your apartment and not having to jump over, or limbo under the Ethernet cables running around the apartment. If its a desktop the internet modem is in the living room of Vista and Chatham, not sure about Patterson court and usually includes a desk of some sort near it.

Also a mattress pad is gold, the mattresses are spring and are covered with this viral material that makes that "swish swish" noise when you sleep on it then if your room mate is a toss and turner you'll be up all night.

Like the post about winter jack, wish I would have brought mine it got so cold around December into January. I had took a winter coat out of costuming back when I was in parking and its a bright orange coat with silver reflective tape, not the fashion statement of the year but it got the job done. Especially since they didn't have pants in my size so I had to wear shorts in 40-50 degree weather.

Good luck on getting your letter and congrats to your husband. You'll enjoy it so much!

Yes great point!! I thought about buying a sun pass at one point. But decided it would be more hassle than help.

Congrats, but I wanted to chime in on the Sun Pass. I lived in Orlando for over a year, and worked at the studios and DAK... i NEVER went on 408 unless I was going to the airport, or to melbourne (east coast). Maybe it depends on where you live, but if it's in the Milennia area, all you have to do is take I4, which is not tolls. I lived in the downtown disney, then the sea world areas, and I never paid any tolls. my best friend lived in melbourne, and worked at disney, so yes, she had a sun pass... but I wouldn't recommend buying one, unless you really do your homework and KNOW you'll use it on a daily, or at least weekly, basis. that's the only way to get your money's worth out of it.

either way, you'll have a blast... best time of my life was college program/opening team part-time dak. good times.

edit: oh ya, and for "what do bring". a router for wireless internet. a LOOONG TV cable, if you're going to stay at like vista/chattham. the only cable hook-up was in the living room, so me and my roomate ran a cable from there into our bedroom. bed linens... and... *thinks*.... MONEY! yes. money. We all loaded up on groceries the day we got there, so we racked up a big bill for the groceries. Hangers would've been a good idea too.

Actually in the really really small chatham one bedrooms the hook up is in the bedroom. At least it was in mine. I know another friend who had a one bedroom had a "desk" in the living room with the internet hook up.

flip flops!!!!

No matter how many times I cleaned my bathroom and shower at Vista Way, they could never be clean enough for me!

Better to bring a few pairs, nice for walking to the pool and stuff.
