Depending on whether you're flying domestically or internationally, they schedule your bus for approximately three or four hours in advance. Because they try to load as many onto each bus as they can, your departure time may vary by 15-20 minutes from that.

Each resort has two DME pick-up times per hour, spaced 30 minutes apart, such as :05 and :35 after the hour, or :10 and :40 after the hour, and so on. You'll be scheduled for whichever time is nearest your flight time, for the most part. So if your flight leaves at 4:45 p.m. and your resort gets DME pick-ups at :00 and :30 after the hour, you might be scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. pick-up or a 1:30 p.m. pick-up. Just for example.

Also, keep in mind that these pick-ups aren't automatic, they are on-demand by reservation. So if there are no reservations for a certain pick-up time, then no DME bus comes by the resort for pick-ups at that time. I say this because a certain percentage of people hope to return to the airport as late as possible and hope to miss their bus on purpose and will just wait for the next one. Well, the "next one" isn't guaranteed to be 30 minutes later, it could be several hours later if no one has flights leaving around those times.

That's a good point. And there's a reason they pick up so early.
A few years back at the AKL, I sat in the front seat of a ME bus as a lady & her family tried to climb aboard.
She told the driver her family's flight was in just over an hour and hoped he didn't plan on stopping at any other resorts.
He told her he would indeed be making another stop at the All Stars and asked her why they were boarding so late.
Apparently, additional pool time was the culprit.
In the end, she huffed and puffed and ran to a taxi with her family.
They probably still didn't make their flight.
That was some expensive pool time.
