What time must you secure a spot on Main Street for the MVMCP parade?

We've always watched the MK parades from FrontierLand where we can easily get a spot 20 minutes or less before parade time.

However, for MVMCP this year we want to watch the parade on Main Street, so I know we are going to have to get our spot MUCH earlier than 20 minutes before parade time!

About how long before the Christmas parade starts does it start to become difficult to find an open spot on Main Street for the first parade? What about for the second parade? And which sections of Main Street tend to fill up first? Which sections tend to fill up last?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!:xmas:

I went to the 2nd parade last year and got a seat on top of the train station. We didn't get there more than a 20 minutes or so early.

We watched the fireworks by the Terrace Noodle station and then walked over to get our seats for the parade.

We were there earlier in the season though (2nd week of Dec.) so it might be different the closer to Christmas it gets and as the crowds build.

Thanks for the answers so far.

Another question....if my memory serves me correctly, the Christmas parade starts in FrontierLand, right?
So how long does it take after the official start time of the parade for it to arrive on Main Street?

My boyfriend and I saw the parade during MVMCParty, we sat right acoss the street from Expedition Hall. I think we got to our spot about an hour before the parade. We sat on the corner and did not move. My boyfriend got us ice cream and I went shopping while he was nice enough to save my seat. We never had a problem seeing and no one got in our way.

When I have seen the Christmas Parade it always started on Main Street, same as SpectroMagic.

First of all, skip the first parade and make your way to the back of the park to ride the rides. It was practically empty. We basically made our way around the back of the park and ended up watching the fireworks right around the bridge between Tomorrowland and the Hub. We were actually closer to the Hub end of that bridge. After the fireworks, the place basically empties out. Just go with the flow of all of those trying to get out down Main Street. When you reach where you want to watch...sit down. It's that simple. We got a great spot on the curb right in front of the ice cream parlor. And yes...the parade for the MVMCP does start in Frontierland...the opposite of Spectromagic. Have fun!
