DHS What should they do with Animation Courtyard?

There's a solid lineup of Marvel B heroes that will be overlooked by the other castle parks. These options plus Big Hero 6 could work.

A-
Dr. Strange and mystical heroes

B
Ghost Rider ?
Moon Knight
Shang-Chi ?
Blade

C
Young Avengers
Strange is the obvious one that could have a pretty cool ride attached to it. Shang-Chi could also work, but I don't think he is particularly popular at the moment.

My heart wants a Fantastic Four ride... desperately. But I guess Doom's Fearfall will be the best I'll get!

In a way that doesn’t bode too well for the concept, all the “heavy hitters” of Disney-owned Fox animation really lend themselves better to restaurants or simulator rides than anything else. American Dad is the only one that I can think of a non-simulator idea for. You could have a Krusty themed coaster or flat ride but the park really doesn’t need another coaster.

  • Futurama: Planet Express - Simulator ride, could parody (or reuse the bones of) Star Tours
What about a dark ride? Whalers on the Moon!

Remember the episode "Parasites Lost" where Fry get smart worms after ingesting a bad egg salad sandwich? The entire episode plays out like a twisted version of Epcot's Body Wars. That's be a fun one to revisit. lol

Oh dont forget the food merchandising that could be available: Slurm, popplers, space honey, jerked prunes, Caffeinated bacon, Admiral Crunch, Big Pink, Hermes' manwich, and the best for last Sugar frosted, sugar blasted Purpleberries with loquat flavored orange berries.

I’m a bit confused as I thought the long term plan was recently committed to. But that was actually this short-term plan you referencing @lentesta ?

Yeah, the short-term plan is complete enough for circulation.

I said upthread that none of the long-term stuff I'd heard was more than "collection of disparate IP in the same area." Not super-compelling, and would probably be tougher to market than a single-theme land. So maybe they're waiting for better ideas.

Why has a Bluey show not been fast tracked? Talk about an absolute no brainer. It dominated streaming in 2024 and is dominating the first half of 2025 even without new episodes.
Yeah, practically every young adult parent I speak with when the subject comes up goes on and on about how much they all love Bluey. Gotta think that *something* is in the works...

They seem to always be behind the curve. Bluey should have been in the parks 2 years ago already! I understand they needed licensing rights but this is the norm for current management. It’s the same reason why Doc McStuffins, Vampirina and Fancy Nancy were still meeting guests just months ago when their shows have been out of the limelight for years. Disney Parks needs to be more current in entertainment offerings.

Probably nothing, but I just visited DHS yesterday and got a survey today asking me about the new seasonal kids' activities in Animation Courtyard and my excitement level for the following IPs: Avatar, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, Disney (overall). Also asked me to pick from a variety of descriptors to categorise each attraction. (You best believe I checked dated and boring for Launch Bay, Vacation Fun and BATB.)
