What should I do for tickets and days?

I have to cancel off CP this year again. However, I'm thinking about going to WDW and maybe Universal this late January or early February when rides are slow and prices are best. If I stay at Port Orleans and Park Hopper for 2 days it’s $840. Is it cheaper in February and about how much cheaper? Is it worth it to spend $75 more for park hopper for 3 people or $25 per person extra? If I just separate tickets, I realize I won't be able to go to another park and come back to the same park later without park hopper. However, it would save me money though because my mom probably would stay at the hotel so I would only need 2 tickets for me and my dad to visit.

Well, I would need separate tickets for each park even if I'm staying at a resort, right? I only want to visit Hollywood Studios, maybe Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. I don't care much about Magic Kingdom unless there's some stuff I need to ride. Any help please? I may think of more stuff to which I'll just post a new reply about.

EDIT: I'm probably only going to spend two nights at WDW and two days at the park. Then later when I leave I'll be stayin at a cheap hotel outside.

There may be some variance / offer in price but I wouldn't count on it. Maybe someone else here will know something?

I always get park hoppers but for two days I'm not sure it's worth it. I could easily entertain myself in a park (even DHS) for a full day without the need to run to another. However, if you think you will want to spend a day in DHS and then head over to Epcot to see IllumiNations or to AK to ride EE then yes, get the park hopper. If you planthings right you will be able to take advantage of EMH which means for $25, you will get an extra 3 hours entertainment.

Yep, one ticket, one park unless you have the park hopper.

I don't care much about Magic Kingdom.
You want to be careful saying that around here!

Are you planning on going back to Disney when your staying offsite or will this be universal time? If money is an issue you could just stay offsite for the whole trip. It's less packing and will save money but you wont get the same Disney feeling.

If you're only going to one park each day you don't need a hopper ticket. If you plan to go to any two parks on the same calendar day you have to have the hopper option. You can't use the same ticket to enter two different parks on the same day without it being a hopper. You can re-enter the same park as many times as you like on the same day, an admission to a park is good for the whole day whether it's a hopper ticket or not.

If you're not sure whether you'll be going to more than a single park per day, you can save money by getting a two-day ticket for each of you and if you decide while you're there to hop, you can add hopper to the tickets then. It costs the same to add it whether you buy the ticket with it or add it later.

^^It's not that I don't care about MK, but I've already been there last time I went. I'm going to get park hopper so I will end of visiting MK for at least a little bit. I'll be excited to see the newly refurbished SM too.

Also, when I stay offsite the 2 nights (I changed to 4 nights total in Florida), I'll be at Universal. I hoped to do Seaworld too, but I can't really afford that too. Plus, I really want to ride Rockit, (kind of Hulk), and the Dragons.

I guess I'll be staying at Disney's Port Orleans, if that's the cheapest moderate hotel there. Last time I went when I was 6, we stayed at Wilderness Lodge but I don't think I'll be able to afford that next year. There is also a lot of stuff I missed from when I was little. Is Downtown Disney worth visiting maybe for grabbing something to eat? I realize it may be costly though.

you could go to DTD anytime its free. a good idea is if for example you arrive on monday afternoon, you could go to DTD that night before you start your days at the parks on tuesday. or you could go after you have completed all of your days at all the parks before you leave to go home.

If I save some money, I think it'll be worth going to Wilderness again since last time I went I was only 6. If I stay there 4 nights I can do the first day (kind of half day) at Epcot and Downtown Disney, second day at MK and DHS, third day AK and maybe another park that I want to re-visit. Then after that I will stay at a cheap hotel for one or two night while I go to Universal.
