What resort do you think you'll never stay at?

Why all the hate for the Grand Floridian? I know it sounds crazy but at this point, having been to Disney so many times, I’d rather not go if I wasn’t staying there. I love pretty much everything about it, and it’s special to me since it’s the first hotel I stayed at when my parents brought my sister and me for the first time years ago. I think people have a negative connotation about it being snooty, but let me tell you, there’s a whole range of people that stay there. I’ve talked to other guests that have saved up every penny for years to stay there, and I’ve talked to guests that could buy and sell me 10 times over. It’s classic Disney, monorail service (and now the bridge to MK), best quick service, rooms are big and recently renovated, lobby is gorgeous, and the pools are great. What’s not to love?!
Honestly, I think the style is awful. Just doesn't appeal to me. When I say "stuffy" I don't mean the people/cost, I mean the style reminds me of a southern grandmother.

None of the value resorts. Not just because they are values, but because I don't like the way the rooms are situated with the window/door and not interior, and the bed sizing types. Probably also GF, pricey for one, and also because I have quite a few other resorts I'd like to stay at more so than the GF, so the GF is probably not likely a place I'll get around to staying at since I probably won't make it down my places-to-stay list!

While my family has usually stayed off-property (only stayed on-property once actually and that was our first trip), there are several resorts I’m interested in trying out someday. In particular, Wilderness Lodge and Boardwalk are two that are pretty high on my list. As for ones that don’t appeal to me, I’m not the biggest fan of the theming at the values and I have very little interest in Star Wars, especially considering the prices.

It would be the Contemporary for us. Too close to traffic and not a whole lot of Beauty like the Wilderness Lodge or Poly and so on. After staying at the value's as trials to see if we would like it or not the second resort would be the All Stars Music. Already turned off by the All Stars all together. POP is way to busy and we found our places to stay in the moderates (PORS, Coronado) .

I want to stay at them all eventually. I've only stayed at the Contemporary so far, so I have some work to do. (I've also stayed at the Disneyland Hotel but that probably doesn't count ;) ) FTR I love the look of the Contemporary. It also has a great history, which is why I chose that one first. :) What is funny is the least appealing deluxe to me is everyone's usual favorite, the Wilderness Lodge. I live in Oregon, so I feel like I already live in the Wilderness Lodge.

The All-Stars.

They were great when the kids were young as they really said "Disney" to them.

Now? Way to far away from everything. As is said "location, location, location"

I'll go All-Stars as well. My thought process is that - I drive (Not as in I-Drive). But I drive my car to WDW. I usually look at moderates first. (In my experience they've given me the best bang for my buck). I love the sprawling landscape and the size of the resort. If the moderates are at a low enough price - I'll venture over to the Deluxe's and see what type of deal they are offering. Then I'll go to Western Way and Palm Pkwy before I go to the values.

And that's not because I think the values are terrible. I'm just looking at the actual value. I can make a $100/$50 per night argument for a Deluxe vs a Moderate. I can't make that same argument for a value vs a moderate and/or a better bed (literally) that is 1.3 miles away.

I've stayed at POP and AOA (cars suite), When we stayed at POP we had 3 adults in the room. It was ok. AOA we had 5 and it worked out just fine. I've done it, and never have to do it again. No way would I ever stay at All-star anything, screaming kids, large uncontrolled groups, forget it. The deluxe are a dream come true, but I really don't care for BW, or GF. We stayed at Poly, ( studio) it was ok, and the room wasn't as spacious as I thought it would be. I'd love to stay at WL. And one of my fave places was driving our RV to the Fort.

Contempo. For me it's absolutely overpriced and looks old, smelly, dusty. I'd stay in any moderate or deluxe but not there.

Stayed @ GF, BC, CB, CS, PORS, POFQ, POP, ASM... atm.

The new Star Wars hotel. Don’t even need to see the finished product. Between the sequel timeline it’s set in and those prices...I’ll stick with a couch and an original/prequel blanket.

This is pretty much our process as well, even though with mod pricing sometimes being closer to $300 we just go straight to Western Way/Palm Pkwy research.

We've stayed at Poly,BC,YC,BW,Swolphin,CBR,CSR,POFQ,POR,All Star Sports/Movies.

I feel that we will never stay at WL, SSR, or AoA.

WL just doesn't feel "worth" the cost upgrade from a mod, same with SSR, and AoA cannot be worth the mod pricing for the value accomodations....

Unless I come into a large sum of money or win a package, any of the deluxes. I've stayed at every value and moderate, though. For the savings, I'd go with Pop. Of the moderates, my favorite is POFQ. I might give CBR another try just for the Skyliner access.

Have to agree. But, technically, staying there is more like going on a cruise to nowhere. You're stuck in the immersion for two days or so between the resort and SW:GE. I'd go crazy. Too much anyway.

The Space Story loosely based on Star Wars, now showing anywhere and everywhere you look. I'm already tired of seeing it EVERYWHERE, so while I was in line waiting with cash in hand when it was announced, this is the one resort I wouldn't stay at.
