Alright, so my girlfriend and I are both in a student organization at our college. The club will be traveling down to Orlando this fall. I am the president of the club, so I am in charge of plannign the trip. I would like to surprise my girlfriend and take her to either EPCOT or the Magic Kingdom. My favorite has always been EPCOT, but I don't know what park a 20 year old girl would prefer. We are both Aviation students so I mean, she loves flying and stuff. She loves rides. She also loves traveling and going to different countries. So I was thinking EPCOT because of Soarin, Mission Space, and World Showcase. But then again, she is a girl, and girls tend to prefer princesses, characters, etc. So what do you all think?

Very hard choice, but I'd go for MK, especially if she's never been.

Sounds like Epcot would be a great choice for the reasons you mentioned. Epcot also has the Food & Wine Festival in the fall, and while she is too young for the "wine" part, it is a great opportunity to partake in sampling dishes from all over the world for cheap:)

World Showcase by nature is also very romantic:)

Yeah that's what I was kinda leaning towards. Because, our group is going to eat dinner at Ohana. So I figure, It'd be the most convenient to just hop the monorail from MK to the Polynesian for dinner and then just take it back to the MK for the fireworks. It doesn't matter to me though, as I love both of them.

A caution for choosing MK...check the operating hours for the date you are planning to go. MK closes at 7 p.m. many nights in the fall for MNSSHP (a separately priced event). Epcot is always open until 9 p.m.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. We would also be going to the park on Saturday Nov. 16. In my experience, all of the parks are extremely busy on Satudays, but Magic Kingdom has always been especially busy on Saturday.

I'm definitely gonna go out on a limb and go with the Magic Kingdom. She loves the Disney movies and stuff, so I think that this will be really fun for her. There's still a bunch of rides that she can go on. I'm not looking to make it an extremely romantic day, cause since we're traveling as a group, I have to bring the 6 other ATC students along and she's the only girl in our group. haha. I just wanna show her a good time. Thanks for all of your replies.

You have to take her to Magic Kingdom, in my opinion, for a first timer. If you have more time then Epcot for sure. But she'll be amazed going the first time. Things like the sheer size of the grounds and the anticipation of taking a monorail or a ferry to get into the park will make her excited. Then the "walk" down Main Street. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong doing that with a 20 year old girl. Heck, I'm a 32 year old man and Magic Kingdom is my first choice.

As a girl, I definitely say Magic Kingdom! That park just SCREAMS magic! The castle, the rides, the smells and sounds....it's perfection : )
Got to go with the advice given by Britt. Can't go wrong by taking her on the classic rides. Besides, I've never met a girl who doesnt have fond memories and love of riding the carrousel.

Okay. I'm a female and I LOVE EPCOT! So don't count that out just bc it's a girl we are talking about. I would find out if she was ever there before and if not you really might think about MK. Otherwise, just go with a hopper and go to both. :) Have fun!
