I pop in a movie, and most of the time I'll finish that one movie by the time we get into Orlando.

Curses! I only WISH I lived that close! I'd have to watch about 10 movies! However, I do the driving mostly now. But before, we played the License Plate game, with many variations. We also play the Alphabet Game, also with many variations. And then my brother and I also spent many hours fighting in the back seat and arguing over where the "line" was between our two halves of the seat and seeing who could come the closest to the line without causing screaming and yelling from the front seat

sleep is definitely the main thing I did on long road trips. not to mention listening to music. but my brother and I would usually make fun of stuff or play games like the Alphabet Game or spot-the-out-of-state-plates, or just chat with mom about past road trips.

Mostly sleep(hey its like a 14 hour drive from Houston to Tallahassee, add another 2, to get to live oak) then when I wake up and I cant sleep, I either talk to my dad a little bit, then I may listen to some music, read some books or magazines about WDW, and then maybe watch a movie. Its all so long and time consuming, but gosh is it worth it and sometimes fun.

When I'm riding in the car I do a lot of this :snore: .

Sometimes I look :lookaroun out the window.

If I see somebody looking back, I  .

If I'm really lucky, I'll  .

Once I finally reach my destination, I think back on all the crazy drivers who made me  and :fork: and I'm so happy I made it in one piece that I :sohappy: .

We usually drive to Florida twice a year and do it in 2 1/2 days. The kids sleep, listen to their music or watch DVDs. Me? I sit up front with the hubby & we usually talk. I can't sleep or read in the car because of motion sickness.

- listen to music (iPod!!!)
- watch movies
- colour/draw
- read if you don't get motion sickness
- if you have a laptop, bring it
- talk
- SLEEP!!

I'm a veteran of the 20 hour drive to Florida.

Slight variation on the theme - our flight is just over 9 hours so :
we read,
we watch films,
we play games (if the aircraft has any on the flight entertainment)
we talk,
we eat,
we sleep (on the return journey)
and the nearer we get, the more excited we become

well on long trips I like to listen to my iPod, read magazines, and sleep. On my trips to Disney I put in my Wishes cd and all depending on traffic. Sometimes Ill finish it but sometimes I wont.

Talk to my DH- as the kids are in the back of the car watching movies- sometimes I will sit back there with them and watch the show. I also read a book, take a nap, and listen to music. We have a 18 hour car ride- so I have plenty of time to do all those things.
Oh, I also do those word seach puzzles- they make the time go faster

In July, my family and I drove across the USA from coast to coast. I took a bunch of hand-held games with me to play, my Gameboy, my cross stitch (which I actually accidently left at home, but the thought was there), listened to music and talked to my family. It was a lot of fun and I had the chance to go to Disneyland and WDW!

Have a safe and fun trip down there!

MsTinkherbell01's Top Must Do's while traveling to WDW:

#3 I normally pop in a Disney DVD

#2 We love to stop at the rest areas and pick up a caramel frap. from Starbucks.

#1-THE TOP MUST DO BEFORE ARRIVING TO WDW: Jam to our favorite CD just as we are nearing the exit for WDW (Little Things-India Arie)!

We stop at the Canoe Creek exit on the turnpike and get a Java Chip Frappachino :)

Oh god, after enduring the 13 hour+ trips I did as a child, I swore that as an adult I would only fly to WDW.

Some of the things I remember doing:

- Snacking on a half dozen cans of Vienna sausages
- Tossing SweeTarts at passing cars (in retrospect, even though I never got caught, I don't think this was a smart idea)
- Looking out for cop cars while my mom sped down I-95 (dad was sleeping)
- Watching the billboards get wackier and wackier ("Ooooh! Another Stuckey's sign!" "Hey, South of the Border! Just 50 more miles!")
- Trying desperately not to go mad...
