What keeps you going back?!?

For me it's the fact that you can ride rides pretty much anywhere in the U.S. but its the storyline that Disney puts so much thought into and the attention to detail even in the queue's. You can go back year after year and still catch things that you have never noticed before. Its hard to see everything even going fairly often so the excitement of seeing new stuff is pretty cool.

I visited Disneyland in 1967 when I was 7 years old. I have never forgotten the first time that I saw Main Street USA with the castle in the distance. I remember Pirates, Adventures Through Innerspace, the Subs, Small World, and soooooooo much more like it was yesterday.

Every time I go on to Main Street and Look at the Castle (WDW or DL) I get that same feeling of "unreality". It never changes and it never leaves me anything but breathless.

That's the moment that brings me back every single year.

And OMG the new memories. My daughter singing the theme to the COP. Splash Mountain pics. Our coming of age stories on Alien Encounter. The Jafar Rock at Animal Kingdom. Character Meals. Dancing behind the parade. Pin Trading. Hunting for the hidden "X" so that my kids can download a pirates game. It goes on and on.

Fantasmic, Illuminations, and Wishes.

We have family traditions. Eating with Sonny. Chef Mickey's. Splash Mountain First. Bets on Buzz.

Wow.

I hate to sound like a broken record but I agree with everyone that has answered. When I come home from a Disney trip I start planning another one. When I'm not planning one I'm reading about how someone else spent their time at Disney. I love sharing my love for Disney with my son and sharing with him all the reasons I love Disney!
Now if I could just get my husband to get on board!! :hammer:

I agree with all the previous postings. It's the feeling of being a kid again, getting away from all the pressures of the "outside" world and just reliving and creating new memories. Part of the fun is the anticipation of the countdown - especially when you get into double digits and great when you are in single digits! Then you know you can get through the day at work because you are going to Disney! Some people don't understand my love of Disney. There is always something great to do! Just about everything is there for you - food, rides, golf, fishing, shows, shopping, tours - who could ask for more. You expect the best from Disney and they deliver!:)

I was just wondering what keeps you going back to disney for your vacations. There's thousands of places in the world you could visit, so why Walt Disney World????

For me it's the feeling of being a kid again. It generally just makes me feel happy when I'm there. I find there are so many different choices in activities that you can see/do, no matter if you're looking for a thrill, a chance to relax, or see an incredible show!

Went to Disney for 1 day last week for the first time in over a year and had the same feeling as the first time. I go for pretty much the same reasons everyone else has said so far.
However I don't let a trip to Disney every so often keep me from seeing the rest of the world. If I had to choose between only going to Disney for the rest of my life or getting to see the rest of the world and never going to Disney again. I'd choose the rest of the world.

I have a million reasons but here are a few:

It's just that feeling you have as soon as your there. Actually you get that feeling as soon as you start planning a trip.

It's like you've stepping inside your own Disney movie and your the main character.

It's feels like going home or becomming a kid again.

It's like stepping into a perfect world and everything is the way it should be.

I Have to agree, its just a feeling you get when you see the castle, or even just see the main gates! The feelings almost indescribable, like butterflys in your stomach, like you know your home and everythings perfect now!

The reason I keep going back to Disney World is a sort of "feeling" I get when I enter the park or even one of the hotels. It's a feeling that reminds me of fun, family, laughter, and childhood. It brings me back to being the ten year old little girl I once was the first time I went to Disney World and have returned each and every year since then. It's a place where I can be silly, forget any "problems" I may have and be myself. It is really a place of magic and memories!!:):):) I've been to other theme parks, resorts, and even Hawaii, but I always return to my home away from home, Disney World!!

I am a DISNEY freak all the way!! The thing that keeps me coming back is the MAGIC!!! The feeling that your not in real life. Its the fantasy that you live for, that you feel your whole trip no matter what is happening the magic takes over you and it is a feeling of no other:eek:

The current exchange rate :D

"Welcome, European friends, to the United States of America. Please take advantage of the half-priced discounts on all of our products and services, nationwide! We do hope you will return again soon."

Seriously, to answer the thread question, what brings me back again and again is a combination of the following:

- Nostalgia (memories from past trips all the way back to childhood)
- Familiarity (the World is much easier to enjoy the more practice you get at it)
- Changes (there is always something new to experience)
- Quality (It's still the Mercedes Benz of theme park experiences)

Great question. I agree with just about everything I have seen posted to this point.

I'll add that for me, it's about visiting a place that embodies Walt's view of the world. The "Disney" feel, theming, customer service, etc. are all reflective of Walt's feeling of hope for society. He wanted to create a place where you could get away from what was and experience what should be.

That's what I love and what keeps me going back.

You can escape from every day life and routine, and go to place where you can let your mind roam beyond the thoughts of bills, jobs, houses, cars... etc.
:sohappy: very well put.

WDW is Home for us. What I would love my home to be. Mom and Dads always happy and smiling not stressing about bills or where their next car payment or mortgage is going to come from. Where you can have cheese cake and the kids can have worms in dirt for breakfast.

The feeling that as soon as I drive under that archway, everything from the outside world, all the stress and baggage falls off of my back and stays there until I leave.

I would say that is definately the escape from reality for starters. Secondly, I would say that every time I go it is different both in time of the year, dining and accomodations. I started out offsite and inexperienced and most recently stayed at Poly and experienced WDW at Christmas time for the first time as well as the dining plan.

I have also learned alot from all of you, that first time offsite I didn't even know of this site. Now as a result of it I am just so much more aware of everything. I am now the official family planner and tour guide!
